Kmart's new must-have product for beach days

While some people are calling it 'genius', others say it's not as practical as it seems.

Picture this: it’s a beautiful day, and you decide to go to the beach. You have a beach bag, but it has no internal pockets, so you’re constantly rummaging to locate your phone and keys, whilst also battling to keep your drink upright in the sand. Some beach day!

Well, Kmart may just have come out with the perfect solution - but not everyone is so fond of it.

This summer’s beach must have?

Kmart has taken to social media with a video captioned ‘The beach essential we didn’t know we needed 🥤👀’.

The video showcases their brand new Beach Cup Holder - described on their website as a ‘multifunctional cup holder for beverage, phone, sunglass, key or snacks’.

“This year’s beach must have ☀️” the video said.

“Only $5 and 4 colours to choose from. Run to Kmart 🏃”

“Very clever!”

Commenters across their platforms were obsessed with the product, saying that it couldn’t be more perfect for keeping their things organised.

“Just in time for summer 😎” one commenter said.

“very clever,” said another.

“I don’t need it… but Kmart is telling me I need it 😬” a third agreed.

“These are great! 👏” another commenter said.

“Genius,” said another.

“No thanks!”

However, just as many were unhappy with the product’s launch, calling out its use of excessive plastic, as well as calling it impractical for use in a hot, public place.

“Until your phone gets too hot from the sun yeah no thanks,” one commenter said.

“Looks like a beach stealing device!” said another.

“Great idea…but that’s like a moth to a flame for thieves unfortunately,” a third agreed.

“Until someone yoinks all your stuff in one go,” said another.

“Great way to leave your phone, keys and drink in the hot sun 😅 Not to mention calling out to all those looking to steal! 👌” another commenter added.
