A TikTok mega star has raised eyebrows with her unusual wedding ceremony that fans have labelled “embarrassing” and “awkward”.

A US influencer has seen their wedding go viral for all the wrong reasons, with the groom claiming he was prevented from leaving before the ceremony.

Trisha Paytas, who uses both she/her and they/them pronouns, is a controversial YouTuber turned TikTok star who has a combined 11.5 million followers across both platforms.

On Sunday, she married partner Moses Hacmon, an event which was celebrated by the influencer’s fans.

But many them couldn’t get over several unusual details of the wedding and reception that were shared by the couple and attendees online.

For the wedding ceremony Trisha wore a strapless black floor-length gown that featured a plunging neckline and cut outs at the side of their waist.

But for the reception they changed in a white mini dress with a petticoat skirt and black train.

Videos posted to TikTok of footage shot by guests showed Trisha and Moses performing a duet of What Dreams Are Made Of, a Hilary Duff song from The Lizzie Maguire Movie.

The also danced to a song called I love you Moses, with many people pointing out on Twitter that the large wedding venue seemed bizarrely empty.

A YouTube vlog posted by Trisha about their wedding also saw Moses claim they had asked the wedding venue’s valet not to let him have access to his car before the ceremony.

“The guy didn’t want to give me the car,” Moses told Trisha, revealing he had tried to leave before their wedding to get a shirt.

“He said she (Trisha) said specifically not to give you the car.”

In response Trisha said: “Who said that? They said that about me? … Oh my god that is so weird.”

Trisha’s followers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the wedding, with many labelling the event baffling, especially as the influencer had bragged about spending so much money on their big day beforehand.

But others defended Trisha, claiming the “vicious” comments about her wedding were unfair.
