After heading out to Bunnings (AKA Hammerbarn) this week to hopefully snag a few of the iconic Bluey gnomes, many parents wanted to head home and watch the correlating season two episode with their little ones.
But, to everyone’s shock, it was no longer available - and now we know why.

It’s gone!
An Aussie Bluey fan took to the Adult Bluey Fans Facebook group earlier this week, after noticing the iconic season two episode of the show, ‘Hammerbarn’, was no longer available on ABC iview.
“Found out that the episode ‘Hammerbarn’ has been removed from ABC till after the Bunnings promotion,” the woman said.

“How infuriating!”
Commenters on the post were just as shocked, with some saying they’d been wondering why they couldn’t find it themselves.
“I wondered why I couldn’t find the episode!!?? Wonder if there’s some kind of legality issue?” one person asked.
“Omg it’s like one of my favourite episodes…! Was wondering where it had gone haha,” said another.
“Oh so thaaaaaaats why we couldn't watch it today after going to Bunnings I THOUGHT I WAS GOING NUTS,” a third agreed.
Others, though, weren’t as cheery about it, instead calling out ABC for getting rid of what could have been a full circle moment after purchasing Hammerbarn merchandise.
“I noticed they removed it too!! How infuriating because that’s the one my son wanted to watch after getting them,” said one commenter.
“So we have a Hammerbarn promotion at Bunnings and there's no way to watch the Hammerbarn episode in Australia, the country the show is from. But Americans can still watch it? How does that make any sense? Everyone's kids are gonna want to watch that exact episode,” another agreed.
“As the ABC cannot align with a commercial brand or partnership…”
In a statement to Kidspot, an ABC representative confirmed that the reason came down to their lack of involvement in the deal, which is between Bunnings and BBC Studios - who own the merchandising rights for the series.
"As the ABC cannot align with a commercial brand or partnership, the Bluey episode ‘Hammerbarn’ will temporarily be unavailable on ABC iview," the spokesperson said.
"‘Hammerbarn’ will return to ABC iview at a later date. All other episodes of Bluey seasons 1-3 remain on ABC iview for Bluey fans to enjoy."
Bunnings spokeswoman Melissa O’Neill told the Daily Telegraph that the company was disappointed by the choice.
“It’s sad to think that they can’t enjoy the episode,” she said.
“And particularly given Bluey fans can buy merchandise from a range of retailers and sites both in Australia and overseas.”
