$8 sold out Big W item returns to stores

Shoppers are racing to get their hands on Big W's iconic $8 Christmas decoration after it completely sold out before last year's festive season.

An $8 item that went viral in 2024 has returned to shelves, with shoppers already working to snap it up.

Big W released the $8 Sausage Dog Wire Lights in 2024 and the item was completely sold out by November — an entire month before Christmas.

The item has returned, hitting shelves in recent weeks, and the brand revealed that 1700 units have already been sold.

This year, the collection has grown even bigger with the addition of the $50 multi-colour Mirabella Sausage Dog Light, the $50 Mirabella Sausage Dog Inflatable, the $4 pet dog bauble and the $1.50 Christmas Tea Towel Dog print.

TikTok user @x.tina666 shared some of the finds they made in Big W featuring sausage dogs, including a cute pair of dachshund earrings wearing antlers.

“Run don’t walk,” she declared.

Fellow social media users expressed their excitement about the collection.

“Ohhh can this stuff be ordered online? I need it all,” one declared.

Another said: “Um yes please! I’ll buy it all thanks.”

“No don’t show me this. I’m already broke,” someone added.

It prompted a similar reaction last year.

“Oh I need a black version for my Gizzy,” one social media user commented.

Others said they “needed these immediately,” they were “running” to the store and “add to cart”.

“How cool. I have a bestie in USA with a sausageboy. Look out for a package Mr Ernster,” one said.

This year, there is also a range of Cars-themed decorations, from the iconic Pixar movie. More than 80 per cent of Big W’s Christmas range is under $10.
