“So excited to announce baby number 4,” Miranda Kerr posted to Snapchat over the weekend.
“And it’s a boy,” she added, captioning a photo of four pairs of yellow and white sneakers in different sizes.
“#boymom,” read the hashtag.
The 40-year-old already has three boys: five-year-old Hart and three-year-old Miles with husband Evan Spiegel, plus 12-year-old Flynn with ex-husband Orlando Bloom.
Miranda said in November 2022 that Evan had been keen to have more children.
“He’s been trying to convince me,” she told Peopleat the time.
On Instagram, fans were full of congratulations to Miranda and Evan for their exciting news.
“Aww congratulations Miranda, such good news!” one person said.
“Congratulations!! I’m so happy, it feels like it happened to me!” said another.
“I knew it! You’ve been so quiet,” a third person said.
But not everyone shared the enthusiasm.

Sad response to Miranda Kerr’s pregnancy news
One woman took to the comments section to share her heartbreak over her pregnancy losses, putting a spotlight on how difficult it can be to hear baby news can be when you’re struggling with loss and infertility.
“Pray for us in our heartbreak for multiple miscarriages and not the same salaries to be lucky enough to fix it,” the woman wrote.
While the comment could be interpreted as the work of someone trying to rain on Miranda’s parade, her final comment makes it clear: the woman's grief is raw and genuine.
“Seems like some people have all the luck and the rest of us get nothing,” she added.
Followers responded to the woman’s comment with brutal cruelty, accusing her of being bitter.
“For real?” one person said.
“Bitter much?” was another cruel reply.
“Stop it. Just… stop,” said a third person.
One in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage
With one in four pregnancies ending in miscarriage, it’s likely a good proportion of Miranda’s followers have experienced their own pregnancy loss. And while a birth announcement is probably not the right forum to express grief, the raw sadness that accompanies loss can colour every interaction. Every birth announcement, every pregnant belly can be a reminder of loss and longing for a child.
Mum Stacey Skrysak candidly shared her heartbreaking account of losing two of her three triplets at 22 weeks, explaining what it can feel like when a mother loses a baby.
“When you lose a child, a piece of you disappears,” she wrote. “There will always be a hole in your heart. After that initial loss, that period of grief, people assume life goes back to normal.
“But it is never normal again for a parent of loss.”
Miranda Kerr expecting a new baby is a beautiful thing. But if women who’ve lost children choose to share and normalise their grief in the same space where other women are celebrating, we should lift them up, or at least offer them some kindness.
