Mum loses half her body weight by giving up this one thing

A BRITISH mother managed to drop 18 dress sizes by banning this food item from her diet. Wait until you see what it was.

A BRITISH mother cut her weight in half — and dropped 18 dress sizes — after banning sweet biscuits from her diet.

Nicola Russell, a 34-year-old mother of two, said she once weighed 140 kilos and was a size 30, according to Caters News Agency. She estimates she ate about 5000 biscuits a year.

She’s lost 64 kilos and now wears a size 12 after ditching buttery, sweet treats over the past two years.

“I was a chunky dunker — I would easily eat a whole packet of biscuits in one sitting with a cup of tea,” said the mum from Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

“I would buy whatever biscuits were on offer, it didn’t matter just as long as I got my daily fix.”

She took a look at herself in the mirror one day and realised she needed to change.

“My diet was so unhealthy and when I saw the photo of me in my pyjamas I realised how obese and unhappy I really was,” she said.

Russell said she wanted to become healthy for her kids, Macey-Jean, 9, and David Jr, 4, according to the Daily Mail.

“Having children made all the difference too, it upset me that I couldn’t play with my kids and I really wanted to be a fit and healthy mum so they would be proud of me,” she said.

“I didn’t want them to get picked on at school because of my weight and I wanted to set a good example. I wouldn’t even go on rides at theme parks just in case the safety bar wouldn’t come down — I used to say I was scared to avoid the embarrassment.”

“Now when I’m smiling in photographs it’s a real, genuine smile, I’ve never felt happier,” says Nicola.

“On planes I could never have a meal or a drink because I couldn’t pull down the tray that was attached to the chair in front because of my size.”

A typical day of eating for her now includes a healthy shake, juice, fruit or coconut milk for breakfast; fruit snacks; homemade soup for lunch; and roast chicken, vegetables and sweet potatoes for dinner. She also spends at least one hour every day exercising.

Her husband of eight years, David, has always been supportive.

“He fell in love with me when I was big, but now he can pick me up and give me hugs, he would’ve broken his back if he’d tried that before,” she said. “Now as a family we all eat healthier as a result.”
