There’s no better way to bring people together than through food and this year’s Hampton Festival seeks to do exactly that, with organisers vowing every visitor will go home with a full stomach.
Hampton Festival president John O’Brien said he was excited the culinary showcase would return after being cancelled last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“It’s a great event to highlight the fabulous talent we have in the region with art, food and local produce and this year we’ve got plenty of children’s entertainment lined up too,” Mr O’Brien said.
Entertainment will include a children’s puppeteer, art classes, cooking demonstrations and buskers.
“Growers on the Green is back, providing local businesses and producers a chance to showcase what they do on their farm and in their business, with cooking demos and talks plus there will be a huge selection of foods to try so everyone should definitely come hungry,” event organiser Wendy Allen said.
“We’ve also got Pechey Distilling Co releasing their brand new Toowoomba Dry gin and they are teaming up with Crows Nest soft drink to make some delicious cocktails which should go down a treat with all the wonderful live and local music on offer.”
The Hampton Festival will run from 9.30am until 4pm on Sunday.
