Shoppers have labelled a limited release dish from one major supermarket as “elite”.

Woolworths released a $22 Carrot Cake Cheesecake for a limited time only. It features the two cakes combined with cream cheese frosting and crunchy walnuts.

The cake has proved to be a big hit among social media users, with food blogger Samantha Khater saying it was one of the supermarket’s “best cheesecakes yet”.

“This was a solid 10 out of 10,” she said.

Fellow food blogger @nectoriouspapi was inclined to agree with Samantha.

“Guys, this is insanely delicious. You must check it out. If you love cheesecake and you love carrot cake, your dreams have come true,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nick Vavitis, who owns the brand Choclt, which is also stocked at Woolworths, said: “What a time to be alive.”

He said that carrot cake was a superior dessert and would argue with people who say otherwise.

“It is currently 10.30am that I am filming this, and let me tell you Carrot Cake Cheesecake for breakfast is elite, and this is elite,” he said.

“This is everything and more than I expected.”

He described it as fluffy and not overly sweet.

It’s not the only new cake as part of the collection; Woolworths has also introduced Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake for $23 and a Smash Cake for $33.

“With September being a popular month for birthdays in Australia, we know that our customers are looking for variety and options in the cakes they are eating to celebrate loved ones, and we’re proud to offer a range of exceptional desserts that are perfect for celebrating days of birth,” Donald Keith, Woolworths Bakery Merchandise manager, said.

“From our interactive Smash Cake, with hidden treats, to our limited edition indulgent Carrot Cake Cheesecake and popular flavourful Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake, each cake has a different experience and flavour for the excess birthdays you might be celebrating in September.”

It cames after Woolworths launched Australia’s first digital supermarket trolleyin a bid to allow customers to scan, bag and track their spending as they shop using an iPad.

Afterwards, customers can take the iPad to a self-serve register and pay.

All Woolworths customers have to do is unlock a tablet from the front of the store using their Everyday rewards card and attach it to their trolley before starting their shop.

It removes the need for customers to use their personal mobile devices.

It is currently being trialled at Woolworths Windsor, in Sydney’s North West.

There are plans to also bring it to Kellyville, Oran Park, Kellyville Grove, Kellyville North, Lane Cove, The Ponds, Warringah Mall, Schofields Town Centre and North Parramatta.
