What is perhaps Australia’s most viral kitchen appliance of 2024 so far, The Ninja Creami has been a game changer with its ability to make all our ice-cream dreams come true. No longer do we have to wait 30 minutes for homemade ice-cream to be churned. With the Ninja Creami, all you do is pour in your mixture, freeze it and in under 3 minutes you’ll have perfectly churned ice-cream… or sorbet, lite ice-cream, gelato, a smoothie bowl – even a milkshake!

The food team at taste.com.au has been testing out all the fun ways you can ‘Ninja Creami it’. From smooth and creamy ice-creams, to fresh one-ingredient sorbets, here are our top 3 Ninja Creami recipes.

2-ingredient Ninja Creami condensed milk ice-cream

If you’ve got a carton of cream, a can of condensed milk and a Ninja Creami, then you’re not too far off having the best ice-cream ever. To make this creamy concoction, all you need to do is whip together cream and condensed milk, freeze the mixture in the Ninja Creami container and then pop it in the machine. In 2 minutes, you’ll have the smoothest and creamiest ice-cream ever.

You could leave it as is, but if you want to spice things up you can add mix-ins! Taste.com.au’s food editor, Elisa Pietrantonio, went for Oreos (she loves a cookies and cream vibe) and then tried strawberries (which made an incredible strawberries and cream ice-cream).

Apple crumble custard Ninja Creami ice-cream

In our opinion, ice-cream is an all-year-round food especially when it’s paired with a warm, comforting dessert like apple crumble. We’ve taken our 2-ingredient Ninja Creami condensed milk ice-cream base and put a wintery twist on it with the addition of canned apple pie slices, custard and ANZAC bikkies (they mimic the best part of an Apple crumble).

To make this ice-cream, all you need to do is beat together the cream and condensed milk then freeze the mixture in the Ninja Creami containers. Once it’s frozen, place a container in the Ninja Creami, add some apple and let the Ninja Creami do all the hard work! Transfer the churned mixture to a freezable container and add the mix-ins. Now you’ve got the perfect ice-cream for warm apple crumble.

1-ingredient Ninja Creami pineapple sorbet

What’s better than 2-ingredient Ninja Creami ice-cream? 1-ingredient Ninja Creami sorbet! Elisa (our resident Ninja Creami expert) also managed to come up with a sorbet that only requires 1 ingredient… and she’s convinced that this is “the best yet”, compared to the many, many sorbets she’s made over the years.

All it takes is grabbing a can of pineapple in juice, popping it in a Ninja Creami container, freezing it, putting it in the machine and pressing the Sorbet function. You’ll have a refreshing and creamy sorbet perfect for those warmer days, ready in just 2 minutes.

Ninja Creami chocolate Baileys thickshake

While it may seem like the Ninja Creami only makes ice-creams or sorbets, you’d be assuming very wrong! The Ninja Creami has the ability to make the thickest, most creamy milkshakes ever, and Elisa’s recipe for a chocolate Baileys thickshake is such a winner in our eyes. All you need is store-bought chocolate ice-cream (or you can whip up some in your Ninja Creami!), milk and then some Baileys Irish cream, if you’re feeling boozy.

Simply add all the ingredients to an empty Ninja Creami container, place it in the machine, press the Milkshake button, process for about 2 minutes and voilà: an indulgent thickshake is ready for drinking! If you prefer a milkshake over a thickshake then you can add a little more milk and press Re-Spin until your desired texture is achieved.

2-ingredient dairy-free Ninja Creami banana ice-cream

While making banana bread with blackening bananas is our go-to, Michelle has given us another way to use up bananas with her 2-ingredient banana ice-cream. You only need bananas and lemon juice (which provides a lovely tang) to make this ice-cream so it’s dairy-free and healthy – you could quite literally have it for breakfast.

Simply, freeze the bananas in the Ninja Creami container, then add the lemon juice. Thanks to the Ninja Creami’s sorbet function you’ll have sweet and creamy banana ice-cream in a matter of minutes.
