We’re seeing one of the spiciest new trends ramping up with chilli-infused honey breaking into the mainstream.
Sticky, sweet and spicy
State-side, chilli-infused honey has very much become ‘a thing’ and as we know, spicy-sweet is a staple of plenty of South-East Asian cuisines. So it’s a relief that we Australians are not only catching up, we’re hurtling toward the finish line. Chilli honey adds a great kick to pizza, and has been popping up on incredible menus in surprising ways. At AP Bakery in Wildflower the Jersey milk cheese buns are topped with the sweet and spicy stuff, and at Matt Stone’s Westwood, pizzas are doused in honey with chilli and garlic. So, now that we’ve convinced you it’s a goer, here’s where you can get it and give it a crack yourself.
