Lukoumades, a local hotspot in Hyde Park, South Australia, is known for its trendy Greek doughnuts topped with caramel, chocolate, honey, fruit, and nuts.

The business shared the unexpected news on Instagram on Monday.

In a heartfelt post, the business thanked its loyal customers and reflected on their journey.

“It has been a great seven years filled with highs and lows,” the post read.

Lukoumades, a local hotspot in Hyde Park, South Australia, is known for its trendy Greek doughnuts topped with caramel, chocolate, honey, fruit, and nuts.

“However, we have made a difficult decision and have decided that our time has come to an end at Hyde Park.

“This is affective (sic) immediately. We want to express our gratitude to you all for supporting us.”

Customers were saddened to hear the news.

“Oh no, my kids are going to be devastated,” one wrote on social media.

“Oh that’s so sad to hear. Hope to see you guys back at a permanent location,” another commented.

While the physical location is now closed, Lukoumades assured fans that their doughnuts would still be available through their dessert truck, with plans to attend as many events as possible.

Lukoumades had faced challenges in the past. A devastating fire in 2020 completely destroyed their Henley Beach store, totalling in an estimated $300,000 worth of damage.
