Coles has announced a new “collectables” item shoppers can take home for free that is set to go “gangbusters”.

The Australian supermarket giant has partnered with Australia’s favourite cookware brand KitchenAid to offer six pieces of matte black stoneware customers can earn for free using their Flybuys card.

Just like with the supermarket’s previous collectable ranges, including the ColesMasterChef knives and the picnicwear, shoppers will earn one credit for every $20 spent in a transaction, both in store and online.

“We’ve all heard of the Coles collectables but the thing with this one is it’s the most exciting yet,” Courtney Roulston, former MasterChef Australia star and Coles ambassador, told news.com.au

“It’s about Coles giving practical items to our shoppers that they need and they’re going to use to help them cook with their families. And these products are going to last forever.”

The exclusive cookware collection is made up of a mini cocotte, 15cm bowl, a small, medium and large baker with bamboo lid, 29cm pie dish, and a 22cm cast iron casserole pot that is safe for use with ovens and stoves, gas or induction.

Each piece also has an eco-friendly bamboo lid – except for the cast iron pot – that can be used to store food after cooking.

The collection starts from 26 credits for a mini cocotte and peaks at 150 points for the cast iron pot, which KitchenAid sell similar versions of for $499.95.

In order to help shoppers earn the required credits faster, Coles is introducing 1500 everyday groceries that come with “bonus credits”.

Bonus credits can be earned by purchasing one of the 37 participating brands, including Bega, Leggo’s, Chobani, Old El Paso, Finish, Airwick, Colgate, Nescafe, Wellness Road and Continental ranges.

And if you don’t accrue enough credits during the three month promotion, Coles is offering customers the opportunity to take home pieces with a “half credits, half pay”.

Lisa Ronson, the supermarket’s chief marketing officer, said Coles wants to provide customers with more value at the checkout and help make premium kitchen products more accessible.

“We know Australians are real foodies and love entertaining so we are delighted to partner with such an iconic and sought-after brand like KitchenAid to reward our customers,” she said.

“Our MasterChef knives and cookware programs were our most popular loyalty programs so far, with the highest participation rate across households.

“We’ve seen an increase of up to 20 per cent in customer satisfaction each time we run these collectable campaigns, so we know our customers are loving the opportunity to top up their kitchens with excellent quality cookware and utensils that are built to last.”

The products also come with an impressive 30 year warranty, with Coles also giving away 100 of the brand’s famous stand mixers to lucky customers as part of the promotion which starts March 2.
