Flirty act at MAFS dinner party set to blow up the experiment

The dinner party on last night’s episode of MAFS was one for the books.

We saw just about everyone have a crack at Ryan over that cooked comment (especially fan favourite Dave). We saw Morena take on Paul after a tumultuous few weeks with her husband Tony, clearly still reeling from the ‘Senora’ comment.

But, one of the biggest takeaways from the episode was a controversial moment that had viewers doing a double take - and it may be the start of the season’s first cheating scandal.

Here’s everything we know about the unlikely pairing which is driving a wedge between two much-loved couples in the experiment.

Sorry, who and who??

Over the course of the season so far, Adrian and Awhina have been one of the most hot-and-cold couples of the group, with the issue of Adrian being unwilling to accept Awhina’s son as his own being brought up continuously, in almost every episode.

It was at the end of a conversation about this issue at last night’s dinner party that Adrian decided to move to the opposite end of the table, away from Awhina - and right next to Sierah.

Initially, this could have seemed like nothing, except for the horrendously dramatic music which played over the chats that followed, which sounded like something right out of Squid Game.

As camera angles close in on Adrian and Sierah more and more, Sierah makes a comment about how during that day, she’d barely seen her husband Billy, and was instead getting rather close to Adrian.

Then, a quick pan down reveals something even more sinister - the dreaded game of footsies.

“I did, however, know there was something going on between them”

If you’ve been keeping up with behind-the-scenes MAFS drama, you would know that this isn’t the first time rumours have swirled around an affair between Adrian and Sierah - it’s just the first time we’ve seen the interaction on screen.

Whilst Adriana and Awhina have been on the rocks, Sierah and Billy seemed like a picture-perfect pair up until this week, as their differing stances and needs when it comes to physical intimacy has driven a wedge between them.

However, it seems this was enough to push Sierah and Adrian together in their mutual times of conflict.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that the affair began after a ‘boozy night out’ which ended in Sierah’s apartment.

Billy was watching soccer with some of his fellow castmates, when Sierah and Adrian snuck off to enjoy an intimate dinner.

“Billy felt completely blindsided,” a cast member revealed anonymously at the time.

“Sierah wouldn't open up to him, but she did with Adrian. And he only found out in front of the rest of us. It was so embarrassing. I felt terrible for him.”

Since then, these accusations have made it to Billy, who confirmed that something was happening in an interview with TV Week - despite not knowing the game of footsies was occurring at the time.

“I had no idea that happened,” Billy said.

“I did, however, know there was something going on between them. Awhina and I weren’t happy. We signed up to be with our partners and when we watched them getting closer, it wasn’t nice. It was very difficult to watch. I felt a bit sad.”

Adrian, however, shut it all down when speaking with 9Entertainment.

"If touching feet is cheating then I definitely would have cheated on Awhina with Ryan, Jacqui, Jeff and Rhi because they were sitting across from me – and Tony at one point," he said.

"If you're sitting at a table and you stretch your legs you end up accidentally touching people's feet. For me watching that back, I was so unaware that her feet even bumped my feet. On my mum's life I didn't know she bumped my feet. There was nothing more to it."

So… what happens next?

Whilst we’re not sure exactly what’s going to go down, the preview of Sunday’s episode tells us that the scandal is about to be exposed to the group at the next commitment ceremony, with Sierah confessing to the group that she’s recently confided in Adrian with growing uncertainty in her own relationship.

Is it the start of this season’s first big cheating scandal, or is it completely harmless? Only time will tell. But, we’ve got our popcorn ready.
