INTEREST in the site of the old Harajuku restaurant in the CBD has been building with food outlets, with the agent hoping to find a new tenant soon.

The final space of the popular Walton Stores precinct still remains vacant, seven months after Harajuku announced suddenly it was shutting up shop.

The 200sq m site just off Ruthven St comes with indoor and outdoor dining options, a cold room, stainless steel benches and custom seating.

Bavarian Biergarten

While other tenants like Hello Harry, Junk and Moose Bar have enjoyed long-term success at Walton Stores, the Harajuku site has now gone through two businesses since the launch of the precinct.

Ray White Commercial agent Daniel McNamara said he was looking for a food outlet that complemented the existing options.

"There's been consistent interest, all from foodies, both local and out of town," he said.

"The precinct itself is still a successful area, you've got solid tenants on the ground floor and you've got office space upstairs as well.

"I was thinking something like teppanyaki place (would suit), which would be complementing the other tenants.

"It's about having a good tenancy mix so they don't affect each other."

Other tenants in the area include Konig's Biergarten, Full of Life Organics, Zambreros and other professional-based businesses.

Mr McNamara said the central CBD position meant there was good access and connectivity via the laneways though Ruthven St to Annand St, close to multiple car parks.

This would be improved once the Toowoomba Regional Council goes ahead with knocking down a building to open up Margaret St to the Walton Stores.
