A group of shoppers caused a sequined mini skirt and halter-neck top to disappear “instantly” from Australian shelves for one reason.

'Instantly sold out': Swifties snap up $80 Aussie outfit

There’s still one month until the Eras Tour kicks off in Australia – but it seems Swiftie fever has already begun.

In preparation for the mega concert, fans of Taylor Swift have begun meticulously planning their outfits, with many opting to wear sequins, sparkles and frills.

Which is why, when Australian retailer Glassons announced its “Front Row” collection, an assortment of affordable party ready pieces, Swifties took action.

But there were two items in particular that sent them into a spin, a teeny tiny sequin mini skirt and the matching halter top which flaunts the wearer’s bare back.

Both are priced at $39.99 and are available in purple or silver, with Glassons telling news.com.au the items “sold out almost instantly”.

“The highly anticipated ‘Sequin Halter Top’ and ‘Sequin Mini Skirt’ sold out for both Australia and New Zealand almost instantly, in less than 5 minutes online in both colours,” the spokesperson said.

“These were by far their favourite styles among ‘Swifties’ who took to socials requesting a restock after missing out within minutes.”

Most Swifties lucky enough to snag the coveted $80 outfit ordered online, and as such haven’t received the products yet, but there were some who rushed into stores and shared the “wild” experience online.

“First in store,” one woman wrote alongside a video of her buying both sets without even trying them on.

“I got the Glassons skirt, now my Eras Tour outfits are nearly complete,” another said, explaining she was attending three of the singer’s seven nights which are being held in Melbourne and Sydney.

One raved that the “quality was amazing for the price”.

Glassons had cleverly whipped up excitement for the budget-friendly collection ahead of its launch on Wednesday evening with a series of promotional videos on Instagram and TikTok.

In one video, a model wearing the purple set – along with a pair of $99.99 silver cowboy boots also from the collection – could be seen boarding a train before strutting into the Accor stadium to the sound of Taylor Swift declaring “Sydney”.

“OMG I need,” one commenter on the clip, which has been viewed more than 1 million times, said.

“Take my money,” another agreed, as one predicted: “This will be worn EVERYWHERE.”

“Whoever @glassons thought of this needs a pay rise,” someone else reasoned.

Another chipped in: “T Swizzle fit sorted.”

Other items in the Glassons drop that are still available include a sequined embellished knit top, $79.99, a metallic strapless mini dress, $49.99.

There’s also a $25 baby tee emblazoned with “Nashville”, the town where Swift moved to record her music as a young adult.

The Eras Tour is Swift’s most expansive tour yet, with 151 shows across five continents. It is the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first tour to surpass $US1 billion in revenue.

A homage to her discography, the show lasts an impressive three hours, with Swift performing 45 songs.

The Australian leg kicks off on February 16 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and concludes at Accor Stadium on February 26.
