In case you’ve missed it, Kylie Minogue has announced her return to the charts. Her latest single “Padam Padam” is every bit the Queer anthem it has been hyped up to be, and has even found new love with a Gen-Z audience that were yet to be initiated into the world of the pop icon.

Just a month after turning 55, Minogue has embraced her triumphant return to chart-topping royalty in a vibrant red jumpsuit in supple leather while making her way around New York City. Perhaps no better way to embrace the new fame with the TikTok generation than a bright, all-red outfit, sourced from Ingorokva’s autumn/winter ’16/’17 collection. With matching red heels, and hastily fastened belt, and of course, ruby-red nail polish, the look embodies that sense of jubilation and love felt in the USA in the midst of Pride Month.

It was the perfect look to cement Minogue’s first success on the charts in decades, youthful, bright—and of course, draped in leather. Paired with a smile, Minogue is ready for every success her new era garners.

The bright chilli shade of red has become something of a tour uniform for Minogue as she embarks on this new era. It was the colour worn in the music video released alongside the track, and Minogue has incorporated it into her on stage presence too, in the form of bright red gloves and zippers. Other flourishes of red have seen Minogue with streaks in her locks and high-platform heels.

Red is the perfect colour for a comeback: bright and punchy enough to announce her return to the spotlight, stage, and charts in dramatic fashion. Embrace your own “padam” like Minogue, which according to its newly-anointed definition, means; “An onomatopoeia for the sound a heartbeat makes when you’re a diva who’s slaying.”
