Jacob Elordi is everywhere. No, quite literally. From being spotted filling up petrol LA one weekend, to fumbling with his card at an ATM in Sydney the next, the Priscilla star is going all places, in style. 

Elordi has bounced between climates and settings, appearing on the small screen for Saturday Night Live one moment and traipsing around Sydney’s inner west the next, dog-eared poetry book in hand. But one thing that’s stayed very consistent in his recent outings has been his rotating selection of technicolour knitwear:  finely woven goods of so varying a pigment it would make Joseph and his coat very jealous.  

Showing no signs of beating the ‘babygirl’ allegations, Elordi’s uniform keeps to a rotating selection of slouchy, fuzzy, and sometimes brightly coloured knitwear. He’s a ray of sunshine in yellow Prada and a beaming aristocrat in LA-cool brand The Elder Statesmen. He’s even an echo of his former rugby-playing self in a collared knit polo from Ami. Elordi’s full wardrobe is teeming with staples to steal across all departments, but it's knitwear that he’s shown a recent, and colourful affinity for. 

Any time we see a picture of the young actor out and about standing next to everyday things, we can’t help but think, ‘Jesus, how tall is Jacob Elordi?’ Elordi’s towering 198 cm frame explains his affinity for the oversized, slouchy pieces he wears so well. They basically hang off his frame like a baby monkey holds onto its mother.

He knows not to go too baggy, which just looks ill-fitting and flatters no one, nor too small, as a shrunken knitted sweater is embarrassing on all fronts. No, like Elordi, you need to take your sizes appropriately, it’s all about scale and proportion. Go a little boxier if your frame allows, or work in a more fitted cardigan to accentuate your shoulders. You don’t have to have played footy up in Brisbane to look like clothing fits you effortlessly. 

Don’t let Elordi’s light-hearted approach to fluffy menswear fool you—he’s a contemporary style maestro at heart. Elordi’s small-screen appearances have made full use of knits. For SNL, he appeared in this cherry-red button cardigan by The Elder Statesman. Made in fine cashmere, this epitomises Elordi’s relaxed look and attitude.

The yellow, classic cardigan

Another day, another talk show appearance. Elordi keeps the blue jeans going, in true Old Hollywood style, but mixes it up on the top with a radiant yellow cardigan from Prada. When you’ve got jeans to work with down the bottom, the rest of the fit will always benefit from a dash of colour.

The grey knit polo jumper

While rugby might not have been as cool when Elordi was playing, it’s certainly improved since then. Here, he opts for a pared-back minimal knit polo jumper, wearable with just about everything come autumn/winter. A little break from colour never hurts, especially for something as universally wearable as this Ami polo.

The patchwork cardigan

Elordi threw this JW Anderson cardigan on in a brief video appearing on Jeremy O. Harris’s TikTok. Oversized to the max, and featuring an array of multi-coloured panels, it’s something of a final boss in the colourful knitwear journey of Elordi. While the cardigan might be hard to find for sale now, you can still buy the sweater version, which is just as fun.

The navy knit polo shirt

Nailing the right level of slouch is imperative to rocking a knitted polo shirt. A little different to the aforementioned rugby style of knit, if you go too fitted with this, you’ll look like you eat little club sandwiches and swing a golf club in the country in your spare time. Too big, and it’ll look like you dug something out of your old man’s closet—and not from the ‘now-it’s-actually-cool’ section. Lean for something that suits your body just right.

The fuzzy, coloured hoodie

OK, this one isn’t quite knitwear, but the coloured nature slots it in nicely with Elordi’s recent journey. A black and purple rose print from UK label Burberry is what Elordi went with, perfect for throwing on for the early morning run to the shops, or evidently, perfect for global television too. Who knew?
