Inside secret Splendour VIP oasis

Away from the main stages, there’s an exclusive party taking places with all the festival VIPs. Here’s what happened behind the scenes.

Splendour in the Grass 2023 has kicked off in Bryon Bay

A secret oasis hidden among the frenetic mayhem of Splendour In The Grass is proving to be a haven for some of Australia’s biggest personalities during the three-day long festival this weekend.

Influencer Cameron Robbie, the brother of Aussie A-lister Margot Robbie, along with Married At First Sight favourites Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton have been spotted enjoying the fun and fizz in the Smirnoff Seltzer Springs marquee – an Instagram-able Palm Springs-inspired paradise that’s bringing a touch of poolside chill to one of Australia’s biggest music festivals in Byron Bay.

Ollie and Tahnee, who are about to celebrate their one year anniversary after finding love on the most recent season of Channel 9 reality show Married At First Sight, were spotted celebrating the milestone inside the venue. The pair was overheard talking about how they’ve recently cemented their relationship by moving in together after a long search for the perfect pad in inner-city Sydney.

The couple chatted with guests while sipping seltzer and were seen taking a photo with a fan, as punters mingled around the fully-covered two-level venue at sunset.

With the Barbie-core fashion phenomenon taking off around the world, thanks to Cameron Robbie’s famous sister and her new movie about the iconic Mattel doll, the Smirnoff marquee is providing an on-trend backdrop for people wanting a Cali-setting to match their all-pink looks.

“Barbie-core is huge at the moment. It’s definitely all of the Margot Robbie images that are out at the moment,” said Mick Newton, a punter who was swathed in pink and ready to party.

As the sun sets across the weekend, guests can revel in some of the best new music from emerging artists and acclaimed DJs including Dan Muz, Mero, Spacie, Orosa, Jay. X, Bao and Fooni while enjoying Smirnoff’s delicious Seltzer flavours and getting glammed up in enviro-glitter looks.
