Emily Ratajkowski swears by these affordable gold hoops

When Emily Ratajkowski is on duty, you can count on the model-cum-activist to be a luxury clotheshorse—the poster girl for Loewe anthurium bodices, Jacquemus tutus and Feben see-through sheaths. But off-duty, you’ll find that Ratajkowski’s wardrobe is surprisingly approachable. Outnumbering her pricier IYKYK pieces (think dresses from cult labels like Aya Muse, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, and Mirror Palais) are designs that sit below the $500 mark. She’s a keen purveyor, for example, of Alexia Elkaim’s corsets and body-skimming minis at Miaou; she looks to Spanish labels Gimaguas and Paloma Wool for a touch of sunny kitsch. Most recently, Ratajkowski championed two Australian labels, sporting a black slip skirt from Silk Laundry one day, and a Cotton On tube top the next.

Point is, the sartorial high-low is Ratajkowski’s bread and butter—and when it comes to jewellery, the 32-year-old’s go-to piece is one of the most affordable items she owns. Ratajkowski is keenly aware that a gold hoop is the simplest way to elevate an outfit; she’s rarely spotted without a pair, and regularly incorporates hoops into her streetwear. Though she’s been spotted over the years in hoops of all shapes and provenances, recent months have seen her rely on one design in particular: the gold Monaco hoop from Los Angeles-based label Jordan Road.

Glimpse Ratajkowski here, roaming the streets of New York in an orange bodysuit, mini skirt and Jamie Haller loafers, the gold of her Jordan Road hoops complementing the warmth of her auburn hair and tortoiseshell glasses. Or, perhaps, recall April, when Ratajkowski channelled Carrie Bradshaw in a newspaper-print dress by Miaou, styling the halter neck number with Dior boots and a Miu Miu shoulder bag. What did she wear on her ears, but her favourite Jordan Road hoops—the golden cherry on top.

Two months earlier, Ratajkowski’s hoops made another cameo, this time with an Aya Muse two-piece and crimson baseball cap. The appeal of a gold hoop is that it’s as classic as it is cool, as at home accessorising a dressier outfit as a casual ensemble with sneakers.

There’s much to love about Jordan Road aside from its affordability, which is run by mother-daughter duo Jordanna and Emma. Want what Ratajkowski is having? Shop her favourite styles below, along with some similar designs at equally friendly prices.
