Taylor Swift’s Aussie concerts were “ruined” for some after a skimpy $40 top they all bought “broke” and left fans exposed during the show.

A group of Aussie Swifties have issued a “warning” after wearing a popular crop top to the highly-anticipated Eras Tour that left them exposed mid-show.

Multiple women who wore the “Metallic Backless Crop Top”, a $40 chain mail design from Australian retailer Glassons, have described their “stress” after claiming the skimpy garment “broke” during the 3.5 hour concert.

Chain mail fabric is made of small links and rings, which can slide against each other to create a flexible fabric, and is known for being a “delicate” material.

One video shows a Melbourne concertgoer holding up the silver top as she sits in the crowd waiting for Taylor Swift to hit the stage after watching the warm up act Sabrina Carpenter.

The clip, captioned “travesty have struck at the eras tour – Glassons enjoy the money”, shows the disappointed woman declaring “it’s fallen to s**t” before Swift had even sung a single song.

“The outfit is f**king ruined, thanks a lot, I look disgusting,” she states in the video, shared by TikTok user @elliecarr97.

Thankfully, she wore the chain mail top over a baby blue singlet, but other wearers weren’t so lucky.

TV reporter Emily Steinhardt shared a video of herself fixing her sister Brittany’s chain mail top during a Sydney concert, stating “you don’t know stress until your top breaks during Applause”. The Lady Gaga song played to the crowd moments before Swift’s big entrance.

In the video, she can be seen trying to tie a broken strap at the back, which Brittany had worn without anything underneath.

“A truly terrifying wardrobe malfunction,” she added.

Glassons said any customer who had been affected are welcome to return it to their nearest store, stressing the product came with a warning that it needed to be handled with care

“Due to the material and style, it is a really delicate garment, which was called out on the tags,” a Glassons spokesperson told news.com.au.

Both videos were flooded with remarks from other shoppers who had purchased the slinky item, many claiming they too had similar experiences.

“This happened to the girl in front of be before Sabrina,” one wrote.

“Had the same top for Melbourne N1. It also broke,” another shared.

“I’ve seen so many girls with that exact top break during Taylor,” someone else chipped in.

Another declared: “OH MY GOD THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO.”

“Mine did that too I was wearing the gold version,” one mused.

“I have this same top and suffered the same fate,” claimed one more.

Others claimed the top was “cursed”, while some thanked the women for the “warning”.

“OMG I have that top and that happened me had to zip up my jacket for the rest of the night,” one shared.

“I have the same top, thanks for the warning,” someone else added.

“I was so stressed wearing this Glassons top,” one wrote.

Glassons had released a line of affordable outfits ahead of the Eras Tour kicking off in Australia called the “Front Row” collection.

It contained a range of extremely popular items that Swifties were quick to snap up, including a sequin mini skirt and a matching halter top, sold in both purple and silver.

The $39.99 items didn’t last long on shelves, with Glassons telling news.com.au in January the skirt and top “sold out almost instantly”.

“The highly anticipated ‘Sequin Halter Top’ and ‘Sequin Mini Skirt’ sold out for both Australia and New Zealand almost instantly, in less than 5 minutes online in both colours,” the spokesperson said.

“These were by far their favourite styles among ‘Swifties’ who took to socials requesting a restock after missing out within minutes.”

Lucky Swifties who snagged the coveted $80 outfit ordered the products online, but there were some who rushed into stores, sharing the “wild” experience online.
