Even being the last major awards night before The Oscars, the Screen Actors Guild Awards give the big night a good run for its sartorial money. Celebrating the finest performances across both films and prime time television, the SAGs bring Hollywood’s best to Los Angeles for another celebration—and of course, plenty of great fits. The awards themselves are voted for by the fellow thespians in the audience, making it that much more important. As Cillian Murphy said on accepting his award, “This is extremely, extremely special to me because it comes from you guys.”
Murphy’s award for male actor in a leading role in Oppenheimer, was one of a number awards the film picked up on the night. Elsewhere, in what was more of a surprise victory, The Last of Us star, and perennial GQ favourite, Pedro Pascal took out the award for male actor in a drama series. Pascal triumphed over much-favoured stars from Succession, recent Emmy winners Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen.
And the outfits did not disappoint, from Jeremy Allen White in off-white Saint Laurent. Pedro Pascal in a carefree unbuttoned Prada shirt and trousers, looking every bit the unexpected winner on stage. Robert Downey Jr. in perhaps his best look of the awards season, a slate-grey suit with vents at the front. And then Colman Domingo, extending his fine red carpet run, with a blush pink suit with sweeping black detailing.
