A young man’s dating confession has gone viral, with social media users stunned by the fact he admitted certain details in public.

A man’s horrifying dating confession has gone viral after appearing on a popular Instagram page, and social media users have been left stunned by certain details.

The unnamed man’s photograph was taken by long-running social media page Humans Of New York, which documents the lives of people in the Big Apple.

The young man confessed to liking older women, saying his longest relationship ever was with a 43-year-old woman that lasted just four weeks.

“I’m actually kinda worried that I’ll never fall in love. Every time I see a girl that’s hot, for the most part I really have one intention,” he said.

“Then after that happens, I’m on to the next.”

The New Yorker revealed he went on two dates last week, and while he had a connection with one of the women one thing gave him pause.

“With one of the girls I was having a genuinely good time: we were talking, going deep. But then we had sex, and it was kind of like: ‘If you gave it up like this, and you just met me, then what’s your value?”

He said when he wakes up next to a girl the morning after engaging in sex, and the woman is “all in his face” he was left with a “feeling of disgust”.

“I’ll barely look at them, barely hug, say the bare minimum trying to get away. I don’t know, I’m just bored of them,” he said.

The man put it down to playing sport his entire life and with that, you’re constantly working towards something.

“But if we were to play football, and they gave us the championship right away, then why do we have to work? What’s the point? Because it’s already there. It’s like: ‘What do I do now? What else can I go work for?’,” he said.

Social media users were stunned by the man’s confession, with many pointing out the man also “gave it up” and asked if that “diminished” his value.

“THERAPY. THAT'S THE NEXT GOAL MY DUDE,” one social media user commented.

Another added: “Oh, you don’t know how to describe it? It’s called misogyny.”

“This Dude: ‘I only want sex’. Woman: ‘okay cool’. This same Dude: ‘ew’.” one commented.

Another social media user said: “Publicly admitting this was a choice.”

“If you touching a woman makes her dirty, look at your own hands,” one quoted.

Another added: “Tinder culture. Also someone is going to read this and think ‘I can change him’.”

But some defended the bloke.

“I think the disgust with the girl is mirroring the disgust he has for himself. When he starts respecting himself, he will learn how to respect a woman,” one theorised.

Another social media user said they were surprised to see so many harsh comments from a community that typically shows such empathy.

“It is true that his words are hard to hear, as he has most likely hurt a lot of women, but I do feel a strong compassion for him too,” the user said.

“This guy is describing how it’s like to feel completely void and aimless, he is saying he enjoys the relationships until sex arrives and that joy is replaced by disgust. He is afraid of never falling in love and be left forever with that feeling of emptiness.”

The commenter said it was obvious the man has become the “true victim of his own behaviour”.

“Of course we should acknowledge his ‘victims’’ pain first, but the guy obviously needs some healing,” the person continued.

“As another human listening to his words, I see the pain in him and hope that he takes the courage of looking deeply inside himself to face his inner demons. Growth and healing: that’s what I hope for him.”

Humans of New York was started in 2010 by photographer Brandon Stanton as a photoblog and book of street portraits and interviews collected on the streets of NYC. Today, the Instagram account boasts 12.7 million followers.
