‘Can’t camp without it’: Mum’s Kmart essential for cooking on the go

“Ohhh man!! I’m getting one!!”

One of the biggest pitfalls when camping or caravanning is how and where to cook on the road.

Whilst in some cases you may be able to locate some cooking facilities, it can be much easier to bring something of your own with you if you don’t have a kitchen already - bonus points if it enables you to cook like you’re at home.

Well, it seems Kmart has come up with the perfect solution.

“An absolute game changer”

@laid_back_adventures on Instagram has taken to the platform to share a video of the product which they say is their ‘best Kmart purchase’.

“The induction cooktop has been an absolute game changer for speed and ease cooking on the road… best of all? It was $55 🤯” she said in the video’s caption.

The video shows Kmart’s Induction Cooker in Black, currently on the site for $52.

The product is advertised as being able to help chefs on the go cook their favourite meals, with the help of a sensor touch control function, child lock function, and an LED display.

“I’m getting one!!”

Commenters on the post raved about the product - some of which who have used and loved it for years.

“🙌 We loved changing over to this as well. The bbq was made redundant In the end” one commenter said.

“So with you here we have two of them !” said another.

“The best! Have had mine for 2 years now..can’t camp without it 👏” a third said.

“We have the same, it's a great buy” another said.

“Agreed, used mine daily past 2 years” said another.

“Love ours. 😍” another added.

Others said they’d been inspired by the post, saying they’d be picking it up for themselves.

“Such a good idea. We are going to get one 🙌” another added.

Kmart for camping

This isn’t the first time Kmart has been praised for its unique and innovative camping products.

Recently, Kmart shoppers were raving about an ingenious idea for caravanners using the $1.75 Giant Ice Cube Tray from the store.

"These from Kmart are great in the fridge to stop little jars hitting each other,” one person said in a Facebook group.

TikToker and seasoned camper @lifechangingchange also took to the social media platform to share a cheap item she discovered on the shelves of Kmart, which will hopefully help anyone else out there ensure their bedding remains bug-free and dry ahead of the summer camping season.

"For anyone that goes camping in a swag, I highly recommend this from Kmart," she begins her video.

The item the Aussie swears by is Anko's bed bug-resistant fitted mattress encasement, which retails at the bargain store from just $20 (depending on bedding size).

"It has a zip along the bottom and is double-sided and waterproof," she says, admitting she found the must-have item after doing things the hard way.

"On the weekend we went away and some of the mattresses got a little bit wet, soaking through from underneath but this will hopefully stop the mattress and bedding from getting wet."
