A brothel manager has revealed the exact men who visit her establishment – and the sex act most men can’t get from their wives.
Catherine De Noire regularly shares behind-the-scenes insights into the brothel she manages – one of the biggest in Europe – on social media and has amassed quite the following.
Speaking to news.com.au, Ms De Noire revealed the exact men who frequent her workplace, and the most common reasons for their visits.
“A lot of people think clients are losers. But this is definitely not the case,” Ms De Noire said.
“Most guys are like ‘I am not desperate enough to pay for that’. But it’s not about desperation.
“Some of them don’t have the time or energy to pick up girls at a bar, where they have to spend time talking and see if it’s going to work for you or not.”
She said for these clients, the cost-benefit ratio meant it made more sense for them to opt to pay for sex.
“We also have clients who love their wife, but the sexual relationship between them doesn’t work anymore and they don’t want to put the relationship in danger by finding a mistress,” she said.
“They’d rather pay a professional to do it. We also have clients who are looking for quick sex, or people with crazy and creative fantasies.”
Sex act husbands can’t get from their wives
She said the latter was particularly one they saw of married clients, who didn’t want to “shift the dynamics” by asking for things such as an anal sex act from their wives.
“They think it’ll be weird, they think their wife won’t do it, so they just come here and have fun,” she said.
“It’s not about being a loser. We have people who come in and want to learn about sex so they can be a better partner for their wife.”
She also spoke about the assumption about the women who work in brothels, saying people often think of sex work as a “last resort”.
“The idea that the women are there because they don’t have any options, that is so not true. I’ve met dozens of women at this point,” she said.
“For most of them, they have different options. Some of them have university degrees. They speak six languages. I only speak two.”
She said the women are often well-educated, and often do the sex work as a part time job for side money.
Ms De Noire also said there is also a misconception about drug use and alcohol consumption, but at the end of the day they are “hard working women”.
“They have this amazing capacity to work even though there is no boss. They can come any time they want,” she said.
“If somebody told me I could work any time I wanted. I would never work at all.”
She said it was frustrating to hear the women she worked with be tarnished.
Ms De Noire recently revealed how she ended up as a brothel manager at the age of 22, and now working close to nine years at the establishment.
She was studying psychology with plans to become a therapist.
That’s when she discovered neuropsychology, which examines the connection between thoughts and brain structures and what forms them.
“I discovered this field and it was amazing. I always had this passion for research, my father is a researcher. I thought it was my career,” she said.
One night, she discovered a paper from a manager of a brothel. It was called They Call Me A Pimp But I Protect Women. In the paper, the business, the way women are treated and the legalities.
“It basically said how this business is the same as any other business,” she said.
“It got me thinking. I finished the article and I was like ‘I want to do this. This is my dream job’.”
Ms De Noire had no experience in sex work. She decided to track down the company the paper’s author worked for.
“I wrote them an email. I told them I didn’t have any experience. I was 22, had no experience managing people. I didn’t even have my degree,” she said.
“The company, at the time, was only hiring managers with psychology qualifications.”
A few days later, Human Resources called her for an interview. She was eventually offered a job.
“It’s been eight and a half years now,” she recalled.
