Bindi Irwin trolling Robert over his Gold Logie nomination has fans frothing

See? They ARE normal siblings after all! People are lapping up the public banter and even mum Terri has weighed in. 

They're often criticised for getting along a little too well (I know, I can't believe that's even a thing either), but Bindi and Robert Irwin have just proven they're just like any other competitive siblings - and it's all because of Robert's recent Gold Logie nomination. 

The lovable larrakin and Wildlife Warrior, who added co-host of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here to his resume this year is up for the prestigious award.

It's a huge compliment with names such Sonia Kruger, Larry Emdur, Asher Keddie, Andy lee and even his co-host Julia Morris up for the gong. And a nod that the 20-year-old is super chuffed about. 

But according to his big sister Bindi, he's 11 years too late if he truly wanted to following his family's footsteps.

Bindi's funny, backhanded compliment to her little brother 

Shortly after his nomination was announced, Bindi took to Instagram to urge her fans to give Robert a little vote for the gold award, but not before having a little swipe at him first and reminding him that SHE received her first Logie at the tender age of 9!

"Hey Australia, vote for my awesome brother so he can catch up to me 16 years later… #TVWeekLogies vote.tvweeklogies.com.au ✨@robertirwinphotography Love ya!" she captioned the flashback photo of her posing with her award. 

Bindi won her Logie back in 2008 for best new television female talent thanks to her TV program Bindi: The Jungle Girl. 

Robert might've been too young to be there at the event - or even remember it in detail - but big sis was ensuring everyone knew that she got there first. 

Obviously knowing it was joke, Robert decided to keep the banter going, being one of the first to comment on his big sister's post.

"At least mine’s gold 😏," he replied, before mum Terri jumped in to settle any arguments that might arise publicly: "I am so proud of you both!"

It's OK Terri, we know it's all in good fun! 

But things didn't stop there.

"At least mine's gold!"

The reality TV host then took things further on his own Instagram page, sharing Bindi's dig and the complete conversation that happened in the thread. 

Robert urged his fans to send in their votes in a bid to silence his sister. 

"Ok uh… really gonna need that Logies vote now guys 😂😂😅 it just got real," he captioned the post. 

The post shows Bindi replying to Robert's dig saying at least his is a "gold" nomination and not just one for "new talent". 

"You haven't won yet..." Bindi laughed in her reply. 

Robert responded with: "Well actually, I did get nominated for 2 Logies. Hahahaha Soooo....."

And then things ended with the ultimate clap-back: "Sorry, I can't hear you over my Emmy award..."

While mum Terri watched on claiming "this is hilarious", fans were lapping up the sibling rivalry, which was all light-hearted fun but also served as proof that they are just like the rest of us.

"I’m here for the quality sibling banter 😂," one fan commented on the thread. 

"The kind of sibling rivalry I can get behind 😂," another wrote. 

Another person shared: "The level of ‘big sister’ energy this caption is giving is palpable" and another insisted: "No matter who you are, sibling relationships are the same."

Indeed they are! Some just have more animals than the rest of us…
