Beverly Hills 90210 star revealed as first celeb on The Masked Singer 2023 is revealed

The new season has kicked off with a real bang - letting the biggest celebrity go out first.

Talk about a huge opening night! The Masked Singer is back for another season and the promos promised some big names ahead of the big premiere on Monday night. 

And they weren't lying with the first celebrity revealed. 

After a fun first show hearing Cowgirl, Crash Test Dummy, Space Fairy, Bad Avocado, and Grim Reaper bashing out their tunes behind their quirky costumes, it was time to unmask the first mysterious singer.

Brian Austin Green revealed as Crash Test Dummy

Crash Test Dummy was one of the first celebrities to sing, choosing Shawn Mendes' hit song Stitches.

It impressed the judges but not enough to keep him longer than the first episode. So it was time to unmask the first celebrity, who was revealed to be Beverly Hills 90210 star and longtime Hollywood heartthrob, Brian Austin Green!

The international star, who was in the country to accompany Aussie girlfriend and Dancing with the Stars judge, Sharna Burgess, stunned the panel and host Osher Gunsberg with his reveal, while also joking that they were terrible at their guesses. 

It was a big reveal and a big loss of a huge name on the first night but there are plenty of guesses to come with the other masks yet to be revealed.

Who is Bad Avocado? 

With very Aussie clues such as a blazing sun, many are convinced that Bad Avocado is a home-grown star. Other hints including ones about quitting judgement tell us it's someone who might've been heavily trolled in the past or continues to be ridiculed. 

While some of the judges were leaning towards a former reality TV contestant, others have been convinced it could be Bindi Irwin. 

It wouldn't be the first time the Wildlife Warrior was guessed as a star behind a costume on the fun reality TV program, with her name mentioned almost every year.

Who is Grim Reaper? 

When Shannon Noll was unmasked as Blowfly and Em Rusciano was revealed as Dolly, both came as no surprise to viewers and it feels it might be the same for Grim Reaper. 

The creepy character shocked the judges at first with his scary demeanor before wooing them with his angelic voice. Yep, definitely a singer!

Many of the clues pointed toward former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes, including the word rice written on a door - the band Savage Garden was named after a line in an Anne Rice novel. 

Close your eyes and you'll be convinced it's him too. 

The Masked Singer continues 7:30pm next Monday on Ten.
