Australia’s biggest pornstars reveal the most common sex mistakes

She’s one of Australia’s most successful pornstars - and now Isabelle Deltore has revealed the surprise sex mistake you’re probably making.

5 things you never knew about sex work

Australia’s most successful pornstars have opened up about the most common sex mistakes that you’re probably guilty of.

Regarded as the nation’s porn “king and queen”, Isabelle Deltore, 40, and Dale Egan. 31, have amassed a huge following of devoted fans from around the world.

The pair both earn six-figure incomes that affords them a luxurious lifestyle, while enjoying the unique perks that come with the job, such as frequent travel opportunities and nonrigid working hours.

After ditching her day job as a prison guard, Isabelle says she is happier than ever before and feels the work environment she is in now more respectful than her former career.

“I spent a while at university studying a double degree in social work and human service, I wanted to help people and change the world,” Isabelle told news.com.au.

“I decided to go into the department of justice and working in prisons. I was always very conservative, I’d wear no makeup, button up my shirt and everything was loose.

“Yet I was still spoken to with disrespect and judged very harshly just because of the way I looked.

“I just realised I couldn’t do it anymore. I decided to just do one night at a strip club and I made in one night what I could make in two weeks.

“I feel much safer and more empowered in this industry. I’m listened to and respected.”

Isabelle says that while she loves her career, it can take a toll on her personal life – as well as needing to deal with common misconceptions and judgments about her work.

“I have the most amazing, privileged job in the world and I wouldn’t change it for anything,” she said.

“While I think attitudes towards people working in the adult industry are getting better, there is still a bit of a double standard with how males and females doing this work are perceived.

“It runs deep. The men are seen as studs and celebrated, and I don’t think women are seen in the same way.

“Also, many people assume that the sexual experiences you have on camera must reflect exactly how your relationships are off camera, and for me personally, it’s very different.

“It can be hard to find genuine partners, some are what I call ‘trophy hunters’ that just want to sleep with me because of what I do.”

With over 13 years of experience in the adult industry, the Melbourne-based woman has revealed some of the biggest sex mistakes that most people are making – and her answers might surprise you.

“From my experience, I’ve seen how people harbour a sense of shame attached to sex,” Isabelle said.

“Things like having sex with the lights off, not communication that they like or don’t like something and being embarrassed to try new things.

“My advice is to explore. Explore yourself, and your partner.

“There is absolutely no shame in a woman taking control of her sexuality, whether that means having many or few partners, or maybe having sex on the first date or waiting until the time is right.

“Embrace your sexuality, women are sexual beings, enjoy every second of that.

“I”m still exploring my sexuality, even being hundreds of scenes deep into my career.”

While Isabelle had experience as a prison guard, Dale on the other hand is an ex-prisoner and has experiences from “the other side of the fence”.

But it is in their shared experience of prisons that the pair hit it off, and have since worked together in a scene after meeting for the first time earlier this year.

Gold Coast-based Dale said getting involved in the wrong crowds and making some poor decisions caused him to end up in jail, serving 4.5 years.

He said his time behind bars helped his self-development and enabled him to become a “better person”.

Dale got his start in the industry back in 2011 when he worked as a topless waiter, before getting into porn in 2013, where he did two studio films.

But his “big break” came in 2020 after finding huge success on a subscription-based site where he sells adult content and now ranks in the top 0.2 per cent of all creators on the app.

“I love what I do. I’m my own boss and choose my own hours, and love the people I work with,” Dale told news.com.au.

“I make good money, more than the Prime Minister’s salary last year. For someone who left school at 14, I’m pretty proud of myself.

“A big misconception that I face is that I sleep with my co-workers personally, which isn’t the case. I keep my work and personal life very separate.

“Dating is hard in this industry. Finding a woman who will accept my line of work is difficult.

“Sex in my personal life is 1000 times different, most people don’t understand that. Doing it for work is planning the scenes, acting for the camera, opening up for angles, being louder than normal.

“I crave the intimacy of personal life sex as much, if not even more.”

Dale also shared some of his top tips for a better sex life, and says that many people are making the same mistakes that impact the experience.

“A very common mistake people make, is that they don’t ask the other person what they like,” he said.

“There is no communication before having sex. Everyone likes something different.

“The way you are with one partner might not work with another. It’s so important to communicate.

“There is a common misconception that the other person ‘should just know’ how to do it well, and that’s not always the case.

“You need to talk with your partner before and that way you’ll both have the best experience.”
