Aussies shocked by 'disturbing' fast food prank

But, not everyone is mad at it.

There’s nothing wrong with a harmless prank.

But, it might be an issue if the result is a little… strange.

A Melbourne fast food restaurant has been exposed as a result of one local’s joke. Now, onlookers are divided on whether it’s funny, or if it’s gone too far.

Is that a…

A Melbourne local has taken to social media to showcase the result of a prank at a fast food restaurant.

At the restaurant, fried chicken venue Marrybrown at Melbourne Central shopping centre, someone has hacked into one of their screens normally used for online orders to instead display pictures of feet on Google.

“Someone hacked the Melbourne Central Marrybrown order kiosk to display feet pics,” the post said.

Marrybrown Australia confirmed to Kidspot that they are aware of the incident at the Melbourne location, adding that they're working to ensure it doesn't happen again.

"We are aware of an isolated incident that occurred at our Swanston Street store where a customer gained access to the kiosk system outside of the ordering interface. The system was not fully locked at the time, which allowed access to a browser window," a spokesperson told Kidspot.

"We have since rectified the issue by locking down the system to prevent unauthorised access, and additional checks have been implemented across all stores to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

"We take the customer experience seriously and are working closely with our technology partners to maintain a secure and family-friendly environment at all our stores. We thank the public for bringing this to our attention."

“Gross!”

Some commenters were fuming over the disruption.

“It's pretty annoying if you're a customer trying to place an order and can't. While it may seem harmless and mostly is, this sort of stuff still does potentially ruin someone's day,” one person said.

Another called the act “gross and off-putting”.

“Well played, prankster!”

However, more continued the joke.

“I love that Marrybrown's slogan is ‘Something different!’ Like lmao it certainly is that,” said one person.

“It’s now a 32-foot kiosk!!” another joked.

“Was this their sole purpose though?” said a third.

Some even commended the prankster for their efforts.

“The kind of prank that: doesn’t cause property damage, isn’t harming anyone, is easily reversible. It's the kind of prank we don’t mind seeing. Well played,” said one commenter.

“Could have displayed a lot worse things, well played prankster,” another agreed.
