Following news that Catherine, Princess of Wales has been diagnosed with cancer, the Royal family have rallied around her – including Prince Harry and Meghan. 

From their home in Montecito, California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement to Us Weekly, wishing the Princess well as she continues through her health battle. 

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace," reads the statement.

The Sussexes did not confirm whether they have been in direct contact with Princess Wiliam and Kate, and the relationship between the princes is reportedly still terse. 

Just last week, the brothers both gave an address at the Diana Legacy Awards at the Science Museum in London, but from other sides of the world. After William’s speech – and departure – Prince Harry gave his address via video call. 

The news also follows Meghan’s announcement of her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which she launched earlier this week, much to the irritation of social media at large, dubbing it a “hurtful”, “selfish” and “tacky’ move amidst concern for the Princess.

Other members of the Royal family have also shown their support of the Princess during this trying time, including King Charles who is also battling cancer.

"His Majesty (HM) is 'so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did',” reads the statement.

“Following their time in hospital together, HM has 'remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.'

“Both Their Majesties (Charles and Queen Camilla) 'will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time'."

Panic over Kate’s whereabouts hit a fever pitch on March 11, after a kill notice was issued by major photo agencies over an image shared by the royals.

It was only earlier today that the Princess broke her silence about her much-talked-about absence, in a two-minute video from her home.

“I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits,” she says.

“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”

With more treatment to go, including a course of chemotherapy, the Princess has reiterated the importance of her family’s wellbeing.

“William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” Kate says in the video.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

As the world awaits more news about Princess Kate’s condition, we can only hope that she’s on the road to recovery and that her children are okay amidst the upsetting news.
