1. Toowoomba Royal Show
Thousands of locals and visitors alike will flock to the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show this weekend to take in the sights, sounds and tastes of this massive event.
From animal displays and horse events, to fireworks, a circus, live music and food and craft stalls, there really is something for everyone.
And don’t forget the rides and games that make up the sideshow alley.

2. Super Saturday at the Rail Museum
DownsSteam Tourist Railway and Museum will host its Super Saturday family day this weekend.
Gates open at 9am with live music, museum tours, morning and tea and light snacks on offer.
In a treat for the kids, the museum volunteers will fire up the miniature Rovey Steam engine.
Entry cost $5, with kids under 16 free.
3. Anzac concert
The Toowoomba Choral Society will present its annual Anzac concert at St Luke’s Anglican Church on Saturday afternoon.
Titled Poppies and Other Memories, the event features pieces by the TCS Choir and the Toowoomba Municipal Band that honour our fallen soldiers and those that were irrevocably changed by their time in service.
Doors open at 1.30pm.
4. Witches Market
The annual Toowoomba Witches Market will take over the Heller Street Park on Saturday.
Stock up on newt eyes and bat wings, gain insight in the occult or stock up on costume and decorations ahead of Halloween.
The markets will run from 10am-4pm.
5. Record sale
Record Store Day is this Saturday and to mark the occasion, Dead Ringer Records will hold a sale at its Duggan St shop.
Like with all Record Store Day sales, there will be a range of exclusive releases that can only be purchased in-store.
There will also be a massive sale of more than 3000 records, priced from $1-$30.
It will run from 10am – 5pm Saturday and 11am – 3pm Sunday.
6. Hero Concert
The Empire Theatre’s Armitage Centre will host an evening of joyful songs exploring bravery and heroism, spanning pop, country, classical and opera genres.
Timeless hits about bravery and heroism from artists like The Beatles, David Bowie, John Farnham and more, intertwine with opera classics from composers like Beethoven and Bizet to provide the soundtrack for our story as we search for what it means to be a hero. Exploring the musical archives, we discover that not all heroes wear capes.
Doors open at 7.30pm on Saturday.
7. Escape room fun
The streets of Toowoomba will become a magical world of Oz during this outdoor escape room-style experience, inspired by L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Follow the iconic team of misfits and escape from Oz before the witch has her way.
You can play at your own pace or against the clock to compete with friends or hundreds of other teams.
The game will be held at Queens Park from 10-4pm on Saturday.
8. Fabric show
Enter the realm of Collective Weave at Cobb & Co Museum, a vibrant and dynamic installation by Slow Art Collective, inspired by the wonders of nature.
Guests will be invited to weave, create and reflect as each movement breathes life into the vibrant artwork around you.
Explore interactive weaving stations, allow music to ignite your imagination, and make your mark on a colourful and dynamic environment, fostering rich community connection.
All ages and skill levels are welcome.
Doors open from 9am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday.
9. Sunset Sessions
There’s nothing more spectacular than watching the sun set over the Lilyvale Valley, nestled among the vines of Rosalie House.
Warm up by the campfire and indulge in a delicious gourmet tapas or share plate and enjoy one of the best sunsets our region has to offer.
If you’re thirsty, stop by the venue renowned Cellar Door.
The Sunset Session runs from 3-6pm Saturday and Sunday.
10. Support local growers
Drop into one of two markets held in Toowoomba over the weekend to buy some affordable and quality fruit and vegetables.
The Farmers Market is run outside Cobb and Co Museum until 1pm on Saturday while the PCYC markets operate off James St on Sunday morning.
