With plenty of activities for all ages, including face painting, self guided tours of the town’s historic buildings and multiple art displays, there will be something for everyone.
The town comes to life from 8am, with the vintage parade at 10am on Saturday.
2: Bowling fun.
The Garden City’s newest community club Northies Toowoomba is set for an official opening this weekend that draws the city’s past.
“Northies Toowoomba” was started by mates Tony Cameron and Chris Head, supported by their wives Julie and Cheryl.
Together they purchased the North Toowoomba Bowls Club building and have set about breathing new life into the venue.
This involved partnering with the North Toowoomba Bowls Club and the Harlaxton RSL Sub Branch.
Saturday’s official opening will coincide with the 75th anniversary of the first game of lawn bowls played at the club.
Doors open at 9am Saturday on Lemnos Street.
3: International Street Fiesta
Don’t miss this lively celebration of multicultural diversity and talent in Queens Park.
It features cultures and colours from across the world, promising something for everyone.
There will be international food stalls, performances, live demonstrations, and activities from 3pm on Saturday.
4: Cool Nights Big Band
Is there anything better than live music, dancing, and warm spring weather?
Gather your family and friends for a fun night at the Empire Theatre.
There will be a range of food and drinks, along with plenty of live music to sing and dance to.
Tickets are $30 for adults, children 5-13 are $5, and kids under 5 are free.
5: Colonial exhibition
Step into the captivating world of Ellis Rowan, a trailblazing 19th-century Australian botanical artist whose breathtaking watercolours and solo expeditions pushed the boundaries of art and exploration.
This exhibition highlights Rowan’s remarkable travels from 1880 to 1910, taking you on a journey from Rockhampton to the Torres Strait and Papua New Guinea, through extraordinary paintings, sketches, diary entries, and photographs.
The work is on display all weekend at the Cobb and Co Museum.
6: Rock along to live music
Toowoomba venues are set to party on Saturday night.
Bone Idol Brewery will host Riley Argus and Side Hustle from 5.30pm.
Able Magwitch will perform at the City Golf Club from 8pm and Triplikit takes over the Tatts Hotel from 10pm.
7: Big weekend of racing
On a big weekend for racing across the country, the horses will also run at Clifford Park Racecourse.
The betting ring and main bar opens from 10am, and live racing kicks off at 4pm.
Adult tickets are $10, while concession card holders and children aged between 13-17 can enter for $5.
Children aged under 12 can enter for free.
8: Market fun
Every Saturday Toowoomba Farmers’ Market is as 27 Lindsay St, East Toowoomba (near the windmills at Cobb & Co Museum) from 7am to 12pm, and every Sunday the Toowoomba PCYC Market is at 219 James St from 7am to 12.30pm.
9: Watch a movie
Beat the heat and enjoy a movie in airconditioned comfort.
The movies playing Grand Central Cinemas include Venom: The Last Dance, Smile 2, The Moogai, The Wild Robot, Terrifier 3, The Red, Joker: Folie à Deux, Transformers One and Deadpool and Wolverine.
