It’s easily one of the biggest annual sporting events in the world, and Toowoomba is getting in on the Super Bowl action next week with a range of special events.
Hundreds of sports fans are expected to descend on the city’s pubs and clubs on Monday to watch the all-star LA Rams and the underdog Cincinnati Bengals compete in Super Bowl XVI, which will be played in Los Angeles.
The Spotted Cow, which is known for its traditional party to celebrate the game, is bringing an all-American menu, including chicken wings and burgers.
Manager Jabin Pirlo said he already had 75 people booked for Monday’s event, a serious boost during a quiet service period for venues due to Covid-19.
Bookings are highly preferred.
Other venues are also hoping to cash in on the Super Bowl, with Fitzy’s hosting a party from 9am that includes giveaways and special offers.
Rooftop bar George Banks, owned by NFL fan and former Spotted Cow publican Phil Coorey, is also screening the game live on Monday morning.
