Chart-topping singer-songwriter John Butler has revealed when his postponed Toowoomba show will now go ahead, after the previous date was cancelled due to concerns around COVID-19.

Butler will play the Empire Theatre on May 29 as part of a run of intimate solo shows across Australia.

He had originally been slated to perform on March 13, but Queensland’s border closure and other delays forced the postponement.

Butler said he felt privileged to be able to make the tour work, considering the ongoing impacts of COVID-19.

“It’s been a wacky year for all of us in so many ways and to be able to go out and play music for the community and myself feels like a bit of good healing,” he said.

“When I take a look around the world and see how hard some folks are doing it at the moment this feels like a huge privilege.”

Previous ticket purchases will be honoured, with plenty available for purchase on the Empire Theatre website.
