BEVAN Betros is once again swapping dragonfruit for drumsticks, with fresh food grocer assembling his mates for a special show in Toowoomba this weekend.
Mr Betros, Owen Ray, Warren Gelhaar and Ray Moore will play a special tribute show to 1960s British group the Shadows at Rumours International on Saturday night from 7pm.
The Betros Bros owner said he wanted to see punters shake off the COVID-19 blues and enjoy live music again.
"We're just trying to do this to get people out after COVID," he said.
"We need to let the Baby Boomers out to have some fun."
Mr Betros and Mr Ray were part of long-time cabaret band the Countdowns, and the four musicians have a collective 150 years of experience.
The group will be supported by 16-year-old Justin Smith, who will perform covers and originals.
