Fierce Block backlash over contestant’s ‘bully’ behaviour

Block viewers have had enough of a “nastiness” that’s “uncomfortable to watch” this season – and they’re speaking out.

The Block star hits back at cheating allegations

The Block viewers are voicing their frustration at contestant Kylie over her continued “nasty” behaviour towards this season’s newest team, Maddy and Charlotte.

The twenty-something Sydney sisters were drafted in at short notice when Perth couple Jesse and Paige dramatically quit the competition more than a month in, following weeks of fighting and tension.

Given just 24 hours to prepare, Maddy and Charlotte were dropped into a partially-finished home and had to start work immediately.

They also had to contend with a slightly frosty reception from their fellow competitors, who initially eyed these “new girls” with suspicion.

But the teams soon thawed and welcomed them into the fold – all, that is, except Kylie.

During Sunday night’s judging of kitchen week, Kylie and partner Brad emerged triumphant, beating Maddy and Charlotte by half a point, having used their bonus point gnome.

But Kylie wasn’t happy, smarting that Maddy and Charlotte had received a perfect score of 10 from judge Darren Palmer when “it’s not even their house.”

“I’m salty about that, so yes I will take a win over them, thank you.”
But Block viewers were salty about Kylie’s attitude, and her continued refusal to accept the sisters as part of the show.

A post on The Block’s Instagram account overnight heralding Kylie and Brad’s kitchen win instead attracted hundreds of comments criticising her behaviour.

“Love the kitchen but hate the attitude. It’s really uncomfortable to watch the nastiness that is directed to house 1,” one person wrote.

“Can someone tell me why they’re such haters to the girls? They’re acting like they’ve kicked Jesse and Paige out,” asked another viewer.

“Be kind Kylie. it ain’t a good look babe,” another advised.

Others called out Kylie’s “disappointing behaviour,” with one asking: “Why be a bully on a camera?”

It’s been a controversial season of The Block thus far, with Jesse and Paige’s dramatic exit from the show and two teams parting ways with their builders on camera.

Last week, Maddy and Charlotte were left stunned when their builder Zac suddenly quit, pulling his team from the job, over a disagreement about the way both parties had been communicating with each other.

And it sounds like there’s more drama to come, with reports Kylie walks off the show altogether during a tense moment later in the season.
