‘Icy’: Mel B’s feud with fellow America’s Got Talent star Sofia Vergara exposed

Spice Girl Mel B’s alleged behind the scenes feud with actress Sofia Vergara has been exposed by a Got Talent insider.

America’s Got Talent has reportedly become home to an awkward feud behind the scenes between two of its biggest stars.

Mel B and Sofia Vergara might seem chummy when the cameras are on them, but when shooting stops it’s alleged that the duo are unable to see eye-to-eye.

An insider told The U.S. Sun that there is a noticeable “icy” difference in their behaviour toward each other on and off-screen.

The tapings for this year’s auditions took place over three weeks this month, and a source on-set claims that the Spice Girls singer barely acknowledges the former Modern Family star.

“Mel barely acknowledged Sofia when they weren’t recording,” the source claimed.

The insider added: “Mel spent most of the time talking to Howie who she was sat right next to or even got up to talk to Simon.

“But even though Sofia was right on the other side of her, they barely spoke or even made eye contact when the cameras went down.

“Mel would even get up and walk around to go talk to Simon or lean back and talk to him over Sofia but barely spoke or made eye contact with Sofia.

“She seemed to get along well with Simon and Howie off camera. And she got along with Sofia when cameras were on but when they were off, very icy vibes.”

Mel B has returned to AGT after a seven year hiatus from the show and has replaced model Heidi Klum for the latest season, which will air in the US in May.

Meanwhile, Mel B is no stranger to being locked in a public feud with another celebrity.

The singer revealed last April that she had been kicked out of the Spice Girls’ WhatsApp chat for bombarding them with texts about a tour.

Asked why her former bandmates decided to boot her from their chat, Mel B revealed during a UK TV appearance: “Because I’m Northern and say what I think and feel and I’m constantly saying to the girls, ‘We need to go back on tour’.”

When further pressed on why they axed her, she confessed: “Because they’re d**kheads.”

The last time the girls all got back together was at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party, where they drunkenly sang along to some of their biggest hits.

Scary Spice reissued her memoir with updated chapters last year where she insisted the girls will be back together professionally soon.

“The Spice Girls will all be out there, all five of us together again – yes, I’m saying it, it will happen.”
