Dr Chris Brown’s new roles at Seven finally revealed, months after he quit Ten

Popular TV host Dr Chris Brown has finally announced what he’ll be doing at Seven, months after it was revealed he’d been poached from Ten.

Dr Chris Brown’s new role with Seven has finally been announced, more than four months after it was revealed he was jumping ship from Network Ten.

Seven announced on Monday that the popular veterinarian and TV presenter will be hosting two brand new shows, both set to air next year.

The first, an as-yet-untitled new adventure series, will see Brown take in some of the “most mind-blowing scenery on the planet, all in the pursuit of the ultimate animal encounter”.

As well as hosting, Brown will serve as a producer on the show.

Seven also confirmed speculation that Brown would be fronting its new series, Dream Home, which is billed as an “inspiring” new renovation competition where “the great Australian dream is transformed into the great Australian dream home.”

In a statement, Brown said: “To be able to bring my world of animals to life in an original, adventurous and breathtaking way truly excites me.

“I can’t wait for the world’s wildlife and the search for Australia’s best dream home to land in our lounge rooms in 2024.”

Dr Chris Brown has two new shows at Seven.

Both programs will go into production later this year.

However, before he debuts those shows, Brown will be involved in Seven’s red carpet coverage at the Logies, which will take place at The Star in Sydney on July 30.

Brown’s departure from Ten after 15 years was revealed in February, with news he had been poached by rival network Seven.

It’s understood he is on a two-year contract with the network, believed to be worth more than $1 million a year.

His departure was a blow for Ten, who had used the popular TV presenter across multiple programs over the years, but especially for Morris, as she told news.com.au following their last season together on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here.

“I’m just sad in my heart,” she confessed earlier this year.

“I think I’m still in shock, and in a very healthy way, I’ve decided to completely ignore it in my brain. This series has felt even more fun than usual, so I’m just not allowing my brain to click over to the fact it won’t be in this incarnation anymore.”

Brown’s former TheLiving Room co-host, Amanda Keller, also opened up about his exit from Ten, citing the network’s unwillingness to renew their show as “a risk” which was a factor in his decision.

Keller said Brown was “looking for” more opportunities because his co-hosting role on I’m A Celebrity only kept him busy for a few short weeks a year.

“So as Chris said, ‘I’m working one month a year on television’,” Keller said.

“In terms of television, he’s doing I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here, which pretty much goes for a month, and then he has 11 months where he’s looking for a TV project.”
