Rocker and his famous girlfriend touch down in Sydney

A rocker from an iconic band has got the family in tow as he and his bandmates continue their Australian tour.

Slipknot rocker Sid Wilson and his partner Kelly Osbourne have made a low key arrival at Sydney Airport, as he and his bandmates continue their tour of Australia’s east coast.

The heavy metal rockers are headlining Knotfest, a festival curated by the band themselves that’s already played dates in Melbourne and Brisbane before moving to Sydney’s Centennial Park this weekend.

Wilson and Osbourne have been a confirmed item for at least three years, and had their son Sidney in late 2022, but their relationship stretches back much further: They first met in 1999 at Osbourne’s father Ozzy’s rock festival Ozzfest, and soon became close friends.

Osbourne revealed last year that choosing which of their surnames to pass down to their son caused the “biggest fight” the couple had ever had.

“This is personal, and I didn’t expect to ever talk about this, but I’m going to,” Kelly said on an episode of her family’s podcast, The Osbournes Podcast.

“It’s the biggest fight me and my baby’s father have ever ever ever had, and probably ever ever will.”

“I wanted our son to have both of our last names, and he wouldn’t let me. We had a huge fight,” she explained.

“I feel that I was forced into doing something I didn’t wanna do and I can never ever ever forgive him for that, but we can move on.”

“So right now my son doesn’t have a double-barrelled last name, but after lots of eye-opening conversations and some couples therapy, he has seen the light,” she continued.

“We are going to legally change our son’s name to have both of our last names.”

Kelly went public with the relationship on Valentine’s Day of 2022, revealing in an Instagram post that her friend of more than 20 years was now her partner.

“You are my best friend, my soulmate and I am so deeply in love with you Sidney George Wilson,” she gushed.

The airport sighting was a rare look at Wilson out of his usual Slipknot “uniform” of a spooky, full-head mask. In fact, last year fans of the band speculated that Osbourne might’ve blown one of her partner’s Slipknot bandmate’s true identities when she posted a candid backstage photo on social media.

Slipknot are currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, which went platinum here in Australia. A quarter of a century later, the heavy metal outfit are bigger than ever: Their last four studio albums have all gone to number one in this country.
