Rare sighting of Aussie singer and his pop star girlfriend

Kid Laroi has been spotted on a rare outing with his pop star girlfriend Tate McRae in New York, weeks after finally confirming their romance.

Australian singer Kid Laroi and Canadian star Tate McRae have been spotted in a rare appearance together.

The young couple were seen stepping out for dinner at Carbone in New York on Wednesday evening.

McRae flashed a big grin as she clutched Laroi’s hand as they walked into the celebrity hotspot to enjoy dinner together.

The pair sparked dating rumors earlier this year after posting some selfies, with Laroi later talking about McRae, also a singer, at one of his own shows.

In April, he told fans at a show in Dublin, Ireland, that his girlfriend was in the crowd that night.

“I need everybody in here to sing this as loud as they can because my girlfriend’s here tonight and I don’t want to look lame,” he said.

One crafty fan then managed to get a video of McRae hanging out from the side of the stage, giggling at her boyfriend’s antics. “If you guys don’t sing this really loud. It’s going to embarrass me,” he added.

However, it wasn’t until last month that they decided to finally make things Instagram official.

Laroi posted a photo to his story of the two kissing for McRae’s birthday, writing: “Happy 21st birthday. You make me better! I love yoooouuu @tatemcrae.”

Speaking to Zane Lowe in early 2024, McRae briefly commented on her professional relationship with Laroi, sharing: “He’s so in love with music … Even talking to him, I really admire him. I just think he’s an unreal artist.”

McRae previously dated hockey player Cole Sillinger. He’d sweetly said in an interview that she was his celebrity crush, and the pair dated from 2021 before parting ways sometime in 2023.

Neither ever commented on the break-up, but there were rumours that he cheated and McRae wiped all signs of him from her social media. Sillinger denied that theory when he replied to an Instagram post claiming he did the dirty on McRae and said: “All false, my guy”.

Prior to her relationship with the 21-year-old rapper, McRae was most recently linked to Anyone But You star Glen Powell.
