Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy hits Emmys afterparty in lingerie-inspired outfit

The Queen’s Gambit actress Anya Taylor-Joy slipped into something a little more comfortable after the Emmys, hitting the afterparty in a lingerie-inspired outfit.

The Emmys red carpet is fairly PG as far as fashion goes, but Anya Taylor-Joy turned up the heat for her afterparty outfit.

After attending Monday’s ceremony in a glamorous Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, The Queen’s Gambit actress slipped into a lace lingerie-inspired two-set for post-awards show celebrations.

The 25-year-old wore a buttery satin crop top and short set with a sheer hooded cape for the afterparty, which was held at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

Taylor-Joy accessorised her outfit, which was also designed by Dior, with a matching lemon-coloured face mask and shiny gold stilettos.

While the up-and-coming US actress lost to Mare of Easttown’s Kate Winslet in the Best Actress, Limited category, her hit Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit picked up Outstanding Limited Series in what was the final award presented on the night.

The chess miniseries also took out Outstanding Director for a Limited or Anthology Series, which went to Scott Frank.

During executive producer William Horberg’s acceptance speech after taking out Outstanding Limited Series, he credited Taylor-Joy for the series’ success, declaring she “brought the sexy back to chess”.

“Anya Taylor-Joy, what can I say? You brought the sexy back to chess, and you inspired a whole generation of girls and young women to realise that patriarchy simply has no defence against our queens,” Horberg said.

The big winners of the 73rd Emmys proved to be Netflix’s The Crown, which pulled off a historic clean sweep in the Drama category, while Ted Lasso cleaned up in the Comedy category.
