Prince Harry becomes first royal to criticise Prince Andrew over Jeffrey Epstein scandal

In his new book, Spare, the Duke of Sussex criticises his disgraced uncle over the “shameful” affair.

Prince Harry has become the first royal to speak out against Prince Andrew following his Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

In his new book, Spare, the Duke of Sussex criticises his disgraced uncle over the “shameful” affair.

Andrew was accused of twice sexually assaulting Virginia Guiffre, who claims she was trafficked by Epstein.

The Duke of York settled his lawsuit with Ms Guiffre last year and denies all her allegations.

Harry brings up Andrew’s scandal in his book as he recalls discussing his family’s security provisions with wife Meghan Markle after they quit royal duties and moved to North America, the Daily Mail reports.

He writes that Meghan asked him whether the Royal Family would remove their security after they quit The Firm.

“Never,” he calls saying. “Not in this climate of hate. And not after what happened to my mother.

“Also, not in the wake of my Uncle Andrew.

“Despite being embroiled in a shameful scandal, accused of sexually assaulting a young girl, no one had even suggested removing his security.

“People have had plenty of reasons to complain about us, sex crimes weren’t one of them.”

Harry and Meghan did in fact end up having their taxpayer-funded security removed after Megxit.

Andrew isn’t the only Royal Family member to face Harry’s wrath in the book.

In another excerpt, he brands Queen Consort Camilla “dangerous”.

Explaining that description in an interview with US broadcaster Anderson Cooper, Harry said: “Because of the need for her to rehabilitate her image.”.

“On her way to being Queen Consort, there would be bodies left on the street because of that.”

In another passage from the book, he calls Camilla his “wicked stepmother” and claims he and Prince William tried to persuade King Charles not to marry her.
