The Wiggles have officially made triple j’s Hottest 100 history as the first artist to ever top the countdown with a cover song. See who else made the list.

The Wiggles have officially made triple j’s Hottest 100 history as the first artist to ever top the countdown with a cover song.

The international children’s group hit the top of the list with their cove of Tame Impala’s hit ‘Elephant’ for Like A Version.

This means The Wiggles are the first artist in 28 years to make their debut at the top spot of the contentious Hottest 100 list.

In second place, Sydney music star The Kid LAROI was placed with his hit ‘STAY’ which was recorded with US teen pop heart-throb Justin Bieber.

triple j Music Director Nick Findlay said: “In a year where many of us were wishing we could go back in time, The Wiggles’ heartwarming nostalgia filled cover of ‘Elephant’ was a gift that was sorely needed, even if we didn’t know it at the time.”

Other global music stars who made the list include Cardi B, Lizzo, Machine Gun Kelly, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Lorde and Kanye West.
