American duo The Brother Brothers have axed the rest of their Australian tour after one of them nearly died.
David and Adam Moss were scheduled to perform at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival, and the Yackandandah Music Festival, but those dates have now been axed.
In a harrowing accident, David almost lost his life after he passed out in water and nearly drowned.
The pair shared the shocking news in a statement on social media announcing the cancellation of the rest of their tour dates.
“We’re sorry to announce that we need to cancel the remaining dates here in Australia,” the duo wrote in a statement.
“What we can tell you at this point is that David passed out in the water and nearly drowned.”
The statement went on to reveal that doctors are yet to understand why David “passed out” in the first place, which has left the brothers desperately awaiting for answers.
“He was rushed to the emergency room and although he is stable and back to his old self, we are still trying to ascertain why he passed out,” they continued.
“While we wait for more answers, we ask that in the place of questions you send prayers, well wishes, and general niceties.
The statement went on to praise on Australia’s healthcare system, adding that fans would get another update once David had been relocated to a new hospital.
“We’ll update you when we know more, which will hopefully be quite soon once he’s transferred from Coffs Harbour to Newcastle,” it continued.
The duo continued, “I’ll also note that the Australian health care system is a shining beacon to be admired and striven toward, and we can’t thank them enough for all their loving care and excellence in their fields so far.”
Meanwhile, the news comes just hours after a popular Aussie music and arts festival was axed a day before it was intended to start and after receiving council approval.
