Robbie Williams’ sudden pause at his Sydney concert sparked suspense at Allianz Stadium, setting the stage for a memorable fan moment.

Robbie Williams brought his high-energy Sydney concert to an abrupt standstill on Thursday night.

The audience, initially perplexed by the sudden pause, soon realised they were about to witness something special as Allianz Stadium, hosting 38,000 fans, became the backdrop for a surprise marriage proposal.

The Angels singer paused his performance, handing over the microphone to a fan, Daniel, who made his heartfelt proposal on giant screens.

Following Lauren’s affirmative response, Williams couldn’t resist a quip, saying, “I think she said yes, I’m not sure,” eliciting laughter and cheers from the crowd.

The English superstar’s involvement didn’t stop there. He blessed the couple with his good wishes: “God bless you mate, have a wonderful life together.”

Reflecting on his own marriage, Williams shared, “I’ve been with my wife for 18 years and she was the making of me. She’s the reason that I am the man that I am today, and that I am happy.”

The cheeky banter continued as Williams, upon learning that the couple had a child, joked, “You got one! You f***ing cheeky bastard! Obviously not Catholic. Listen, go and make a few more.”

He praised Daniel’s proposal speech as “the best little speech I’ve heard in a long time.”

Before the romantic excitement, Williams also took a moment to honour Australian music icon John Farnham with a rendition of You’re The Voice, dedicating his performance to the 74-year-old who recently announced his recovery from cancer.

“We’re thinking of you John and we’re sending our love,” Williams told the audience.

The night was filled with Robbie’s signature hits, including Let Me Entertain You, Come Undone, and Candy, kicking off his Australian tour on a high note.

The tour marks Williams’ 25th anniversary in the music business and will continue in Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong, and Swan Valley.

But Williams’ Australian visit got off to a controversial start, when he hit back at a journalist’s invasive question during a Sydney press conference this week.

A producer for 2DayFM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin show, Nick, had asked Williams whether or not he and wife Ayda Field had had sex this year, prompting an unimpressed Williams to fire back with some deeply personal questions of his own.

“How many people have you had sex with? … Do you cheat?” he asked the radio producer.

“How’s your c**k? I’m asking honestly, how big is your c**k? Hey listen, one probing question deserves a follow-up.”

The UK singer also faced an unusual request from “intern Pete” from the Kyle and Jackie O show, to cut off some of his pubic hair, replacing a gift he’d given the radio hosts in 2015.

Williams agreed, leaving the press conference with scissors and a ziplock bag, promising to facilitate it afterward.
