Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle made a rare public appearance, 13 years after starring on the show.

The singer – who rose to fame back in 2009 with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables – surprised fans in Ireland when she stopped to pose for photos at the Knock House Hotel in County Mayo in snaps from August 2022.

The singer, 61, was seen alongside the owners of the hotel, as they gushed over hosting her in a recent post, looking back on her visit, The Sun reports.

Boyle kept it casual with no make-up and looked cosy in a white cardigan and yellow raincoat, which she paired with a white bag.

She smiled for the photo alongside the hotel owner, who said she was a “fabulous lady”.

Taking to their Facebook page, the hotel owners said: “It was our pleasure to welcome Susan Boyle back to Knock House again recently. Susan is a fabulous lady and we always love to see her return time and time again to Knock House Hotel.”

Boyle made a public appearance previously back in 2021, where she was reunited with BGT judge Amanda Holden.

She took to Heart Radio alongside Holden and her co-host Jamie Theakston to look back on her iconic audition.

“I’m trying to think when we last saw each other,” Holden said. “Must have been on one of the specials, I think – the BGT specials.”

“Probably was,” Boyle replied, before the topic of conversation turned to the singing sensation’s former crush on judge Piers Morgan, 56.

“You don’t fancy Piers anymore, I gather?” Amanda joked, to which Boyle hit back: “I respect him but I don’t fancy him. I’ve grown up a bit now!”

Boyle has kept her life private since the show, despite amassing an impressive £22 million ($A40.6 million) fortune. The star told Morgan she lives off a rather more humble £300-£500 ($A550-$A900) weekly allowance, calling the sum “plenty”.

Despite selling more than 25 million albums worldwide, Boyle still lives in the same house she grew up in. The former council house in Blackburn, West Lothian, is certainly modest considering her wealth, but the most important thing to Boyle is the memories.

Speaking to OK!, she said: “It’s to do with the memories of your house and your upbringing. You need to take stock of things and maybe see where you come from and where your roots lie.

“It’s best to be grounded and with your roots. It keeps you grounded and prevents you from saying things maybe you shouldn’t say.”

That doesn’t mean Boyle hasn’t spent a bit of her money on transforming the property, fitting it with a sleek, modern kitchen and a cosy living room.
