Pop star Pink has revealed she’s considered trading the US for a life Down Under.

The 43-year-old, who currently lives in Santa Barbara with her husband Carey Hart and two children – daughter Willow, 11, and son Jameson, 6 – said she’s had thoughts about becoming an Australian citizen.

“Last year, I was thinking about applying for citizenship; I am not even joking,” she told 60 Minutes in an interview on Sunday night.

“I was like, ‘If we’re going somewhere Carey, [Australia] is where we’re going.”

The pop star has had a long-time admiration for Australia and has shown her support for the country during its toughest times.

In 2020, she pledged a $500,000 donation to the country’s fire services when they were on the frontline of the horrific summer bushfires.

Months earlier she thanked Australia’s firefighters for their work, labelling them and other fire rescue employees across the world her “personal heroes”.

“We’re praying and pulling for you and our hearts are with you,” she tweeted in 2019.

Pink’s welcoming revelation came just days after she announced she’ll be coming to Australia next year for her first-ever stadium tour in the country.

Summer Carnival kicks off at Sydney‘s Allianz stadium on February 9 next year, followed by performances in Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

By the time the tour comes around, it will have been almost six years since Pink’s 2018 tour Beautiful Trauma, which entertained just under 560,000 Australian and New Zealand fans.

In a statement released on Thursday, the performer said she was “so excited” to have the opportunity to tour both countries again in the summer.

“I can’t wait to bring the Summer Carnival tour to my home away from home, and smile and sing together until our cheeks hurt. Summer 2024 can’t come soon enough!” she said.

The tour will celebrate the singer’s ninth album Trustfall which is scheduled to be released on Friday, February 17.

VIP experiences for the tour go on sale from 1pm today, while all general tickets are on sale from 1pm Friday, February 17.

Tickets can be purchased from the Live Nation website.
