A K-Pop star has been left injured after attempting to restrain a woman reportedly wielding a knife who entered his dressing room unannounced.

Singer Kyuhyun, 35, of the boy band Super Junior was at the LG Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea, when the female intruder allegedly broke into his dressing room with a weapon and threatened the actors, according to his record label, Antenna Music.

The label said the incident occurred on Sunday evening during Kyuhyun’s visit to the theatre to “celebrate the final performance of the musical” Ben-Hur, in which Kyuhyun – who is also a musical actor – starred.

“While he was in the dressing room, Kyuhyun encountered an outsider who caused distress to other actors,” the label tweeted.

“In the course of restraining the intruder, he had a minor abrasion on his finger. He was immediately treated on the spot and is currently in good health, fully capable of continuing his regular activities.

“We express our gratitude to all the devoted fans for their genuine concern. Rest assured, we remain committed to supporting the artist.”

South Korean police are reportedly investigating the incident and motive of the alleged crime, as the woman is not known to any of the cast.

“It turned out that the woman had never stalked the actors before,” the police told local outlets.

The woman was reportedly arrested on charges of special intimidation.

Kyuhyun joined Super Junior in 2006 before dabbling in other avenues in entertainment. On top of being a singer, he is also a seasoned TV host and actor, and has starred in various stage musicals, including The Three Musketeers, Singin’ in the Rain, Robin Hood, Phantom, and Frankenstein.
