The boyfriend of American actress and singer Keke Palmer is not sorry for publicly criticising the sexy outfit she wore to Usher’s recent Las Vegas residency show.

Darius Jackson copped a mountain of backlash for telling his partner to reconsider her clothing choice because she is now a mother to their six-month-old son, Leodis.

“It’s the outfit tho. you a mom,” Jackson tweeted yesterday, as he shared a video of Usher serenading Palmer at the Park MGM Hotel and Casino in Sin City.

Palmer, 29, wore a sheer black polka-dot dress over a matching thong bodysuit as she danced and embraced Usher, 44, at the show.

Jackson, 29, clearly was not a fan of the moment and tweeted his unpopular opinion, which many users have labelled “insecure”.

“lets be real the real reason why ur mad is because usher just serenaded your gf,” wrote one user, while another said: “Telling a grown ass woman what she can and can’t wear. such corny behaviour.”

The former fitness instructor has since double-downed on his stance, writing that he has certain standards for the mother of his child.

“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he tweeted in response to the backlash.

“This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”

Meanwhile, Palmer doesn’t appear to be playing attention to his views as she wishes she documented more of the evening and her outfit on social media.

“I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late!” she wrote on Instagram alongside a few photos of her in the controversial outfit.

“I am telling y’all right now, if you haven’t seen @usher YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!! Giving theatre, Atlanta downnn, tips and tricks and just absolutely iconic. I was truly inspired as a performer. I whooped some ass in spades too! Where is that pic of us all together with the King himself??”

Palmer and Jackson started dating in August 2021, three months after they reportedly met at a Memorial Day party hosted by Diddy.

That August, the two went “Instagram official” as Jackson paid tribute to Palmer on her birthday.

“Never would have expected summer 2021 to turn out the way it did, but here we are,” Jackson gushed about Palmer at the time they went Instagram-official that year.

“I’m glad we were able to help each other throughout our lowest of times & show one another that what we are bringing to the table is everything that we got.”

In December 2022, they announced their pregnancy while Palmer was hosting Saturday Night Live.

“There’s some rumours going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I wanna set the record straight – I am!” she shared onstage during her opening monologue as she unbuttoned her jacket to reveal her growing baby bump.
