Tech billionaire Elon Musk has broken his silence on the deactivation of Kanye West’s X account after the controversial rapper’s three-day hate-filled rant.
West shocked followers with a series of vile anti-Semitic posts in which he called himself a “racist” and a “Nazi” who “loves Hitler”, claiming he had “dominion” over his Australian wife, Bianca Censori.
The string of posts came after he and Melbourne-born Censori sparked global uproar when the model displayed her naked body in a see-through mesh dress on the Grammys red carpet.
West posted a final series of anti-Semitic rants about musicians Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar during the Super Bowl.
He then pushed his anti-Semitism to even more disgusting extremes by taking out a Super Bowl ad to direct people to a merch store only selling a swastika shirt.
Amid the drama, Mr Musk unfollowed West and said his account was now classified “NSFW” (not safe for work).
“Given what he has posted, his account is now classified as NSFW. You should not be seeing that anymore,” Mr Musk wrote in response to a follower who complained that Ye was posting “literal porn on the timeline”.
A few hours later, West announced he was “logging off” and thanked Mr Musk for letting him vent and the account then disappeared.
Amid conflicting reports, it was not clear if Mr Musk deactivated West’s X account or if West deleted it himself.
West had described his disturbing rant as being “very cathartic,” saying he had been using the world as a “sounding board.” He compared the experience to “an Ayahuasca trip.”
The deleting of West’s X account came after Friends star David Schwimmer called on Mr Musk to remove West from the platform because of his “hate-filled, ignorant bile”.
The star said on his Instagram account: “This is so 2022.
“We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr Musk.
“Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence.
“His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.
“I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalised communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point.”
“Silence is complicity,” Schwimmer added.
CENSORI SPEAKS OUT OVER ‘CONCERN’ FOR KANYE
Bianca Censori has denied she was behind a social media account that shared a message of “concern” for West, following a string of offensive posts on X.
A page accredited to Censori featured a post saying, “Lord, I lift up my husband to You with love & concern. Soften his heart, guide his words, and fill him with wisdom and kindness. Protect him from trouble & lead him toward understanding & respect for all people.
“Despite our differences, I love him unconditionally. Strengthen our bond & help me be a source of patience & encouragement. I trust in Your grace to work in his heart. God Bless Israel and All The Good Jewish Pple. Amen.”
The post, which was accompanied by a photo of West and Censori had racked up thousands of “likes” by Monday local time.
While the account was marked as “verified,” the Elon Musk-owned social media platform now allows any users to buy blue checkmarks whereas previously they were for celebrities or people with a high profile.
After the message went viral, a spokesperson for Censori distanced the Australian from the page.
During his string of offensive tweets, West addressed Censori’s shocking see-through dress at the 2025 Grammys, calling her brave for baring it all on the red carpet.
He even admitted to having complete “dominion” over his wife, writing, “I don’t make her do nothing she doesn’t want to but she definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without my approval you stupid woke ass pawns.”
Additionally, the rapper blasted “dumb” and “lame” haters who called Censori’s “Grammys look a stunt.”
He wrote, “She been dressing naked for 2 year [sic]. Now all of a sudden it’s a stunt. Every single b***h on the planet wish they had her bravery body platform and access to money and a husband that supported they [sic] personal expression. There are a lot of things that had to converge for this moment to happen.”
West departed the social media platform after taking one last shot at his longtime nemesis Swift.
“IF ITS ABOUT THE CULTURE … WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN AND ACCUSING OF THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A BLACK MAN DOWN FOR LIFE,” he wrote, referencing Swift being spotted dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track, Not Like Us, at the Grammys.
West added, “KENDRICK IS BEING USED BY THESE WHITE PEOPLE AND JEWS AND SO AM I.”
West finished off his post by writing, “AS I TWEET IN CODE WORDS AND KISS ELONS ASS AND BEG HIM TO NOT CANCEL MY ACCOUNT.”
West and Swift’s bad blood started in 2009 when he infamously interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, saying Beyonce should have won the award rather than her.
He has been on and off social media, including X and Instagram, for years amid his offensive rants.
