IS stripping really all that sexy?

For an audience watching Magic Mike XXL it’s a no-brainer, but for the star of the franchise, Channing Tatum himself, it’s a little more uncomfortable.

“You know that dream that everyone has at some point, where all of a sudden you’re naked and no one else is? That’s pretty much my experience,” he told news.com.au while in Sydney to promote the movie.

But there’s just one big difference, says his co-star Joe Manganiello: “Except they're throwing dollar bills at you.”

Concedes Tatum: “Yeh, it’s a little more incentive.”

Tatum, a former stripper himself, returns as the title character and says watching the movie certainly made him blush.

“There’s nothing left to the imagination, you see everything and I had to sit next to my father-in-law and watch it.”

Although Manganiello thought it was lucky his co-star had already put a ring on it by then: “But you were already married to his daughter, if it was prior to, you’re like ‘maybe I’ll let this thing blow over before I pop the question’”.

The pair also spoke to news.com.au about what it was like to make love to a refrigerator and whether they’re available for hen’s nights in the video above.

Magic Mike XXL is out in cinemas on Thursday.
